  1. Having like most people on here, started with a pile of sh*t,and then done our best to make it into something to be proud of, I can appreciate what has gone into your G.P.A. resto'

My hat is raised very high to you. Superb job.

I also go along with the not getting all that hard work messed up just because someone thinks you should off road (in your case off land) it because that's what it was designed to do.

    in awe, Jeff

  2. These photo's were taken just after a Mosquito crashed after clipping (with the undercarriage) a monument in a cemetary situated on the approach.

A learned friend feels that it was most likely Mosquito PR34, PF672, of 81 Sqn, which came to grief landing at Labuan on 9 Aug 51. That aircraft struck a 20 ft high obstruction some 75 yards from the end of the runway and suffered undercarriage failure on touchdown. There were no casualties thankfully.

The other photo' is of an Avro Lincoln that looks like it has suffered a belly landing. Sadly, I dont know where this was taken.

  3. Rummaging through photos taken by my father when in Malaya or Borneo when in the R.A.F. around 1951, I found this. Of course it might not be from there as there's no info, but I thought someone might find it interesting.

It seems to have had a bit of a kicking!

Sorry if I've posted it in the wrong place.

  4. I'm happier painting stuff, so I aint too bright with the machanical side of things.

Can anyone help me rectify a developing problem that I've just noticed before a tyre is ruined.

The outside outer rear edge of the the 'bar' on the n.s.f. tyre on my jeep has started to wear unevenly, I'm hoping this is a tracking problem, and nothing too serious.

I'll try and attach a sketch of the problem. I hope it shows just what I mean.

The jeep does'nt wander or try to steer left or right when the steering wheel is let go.

    Thanks for any help.

  5. I'll have a go this weekend hopefully Stu' , I'll keep you informed. As it's fairly clean, and the radiator is'nt that old, I'm not sure whether it's worth flushing out, still, it probably wont do any harm.

I try never to be more than six feet away from my hammer! Over the years we've become very close!

    Jeff.

  6. Thanks Stu, I'll take a look and see what they've got.

I used K-Seal once, but did'nt have any luck. I'm going to try some of the ceramic stuff that catweazle sent me. Fingers crossed.

    p.s. love your signature!

  7. Sorry if there's already a post on here relating to this, but has anyone got a good idea for flushing out the cooling system on a jeep? It's in good condition, but i want to use a crack repair sealant, so want it as clean as possible.

    Thanks for any ideas.

    Jeff

  8. This belonged to me back in the '60's, I did contact the owner who has it now, but have lost his details, anyone able to help?

It was on an advert some time back for 'jeeparts' (the company)

I hope this is in the right thread thingy!
