  1. Hello all My name is Dirk and as a model builder I am looking for information about the Leyland Retriever lorry. In particular, it concerns the construction variant which was used by the BEF in Dunkirk. At the moment there is only one kit available in an early and late version. After a lot of research it turned out that - as so often - only the feature of the missing windscreen is present. I have now already changed a few things or still want to: 1. changed tyres from 10.50-20 to 9.00-20 2. cabin front with rounded corners instead of square ones 3. radiator cap vertically upwards 4. lower cabin floor or remove frame above mudguards I have read many posts here with great interest and also the brilliant restoration report by Pete Ashby. Unfortunately there are still many questions open. Therefore, I would be pleased if someone could help me further. I would like to know how exactly the front of the radiator (see picture) specifically the adjustable louvres look or work and if the cabin floor was always the same height and only the front wings were "free"? I have already contacted the Leyland Society, but unfortunately details are still missing. In the National Transport Museum, Howth Castle Demesne, there is a vehicle which can probably be described as an early variant ?, but unfortunately I have not received an answer. I am very grateful for any pictures / information regarding the vehicle I am looking for! Regards from Germany Dirk
