  1. Gentlemen!

In early 1970-th British SRN6 hovercraft was tested as close support with four variants of armament installation. They were 2 type of 40mm US grenade launchers, ATGM “Swingfire” and 81mm mortar.

I have an idea about how were mounted Gls and ATGM. But nothing about mortar mount. Have anybody any idea about it?

  2. Gentlemen!

It's true that the weapon platform for Wessex HAS.1 commando helicopter has design, different from the late Wessex HU.5? I saw only few poor quality photos of HAS.1 with platforms and I think that they have two weapon suspension units above for FFMG or 2-in rocket launchers and to two bellow for ATGM, but I'm not exactly sure.

    Regards, Andrey

  3. I really thought that it was simple question.

In late 50th-early 60th LVT's were served by 18 coy RASC. Perhaps - LVT-3. I saw one photo with it. From 1958 (?) to 1962 (?) this coy trialled US LVTP-5. I saw short video of RM landing exercise in Borneo with LVTP-5, dated by 1963. It's all, that was after this date I don't know.

    regards, Andrey

  4. Gentlemen!

How hard is it to find stowage for Land Rover's modifications, such us mortar carrier, MMG carrier, AT gun carrier and tractor (Wombat, Mobat), gun tractor (105mm mountain howitzer), ATGM carrier, recon vehicle, artillery command post, FFV? Who was the publisher of this diagrams? Who was the publisher of this modification instructions and descriptions? How much they can cost?

    Regards, Andrey

  5. Gentlemen!

I read Military Land Rover and Half-tone Military Land Rover. There are mentioned next variants: Lightweight mortar carrier, airportable general purpose, guard paratroops, armored. I need details of this mods, please

  6. WRT #5 - highly unlikely, except in the SARO blurb. Anecdotal evidence suggests that on a moderately warm day, the Skeeter was reluctant to perform with one up.

#9 - could you be a little more specific? I may be able to help with AAC-type stuff. Or you could try banging your head against a brick wall/Museum of Army Faffing.:D

    Already try...

#5 - I know that experience was. Have You More specific information?

    #9 - Mine laying, perhaps...

    Have You any about others?

  8. Gentlemen!

I have copy from few old British FVRDE technical reports. But... English isn't my native language and I can't understand any places in text. What is this - gradient 1 to 4 or to 5? Concrete test? What difference between "A" and "B" vehicles?

  9. what I found in net:

Extremely rare, folding, four seater lightweight jeep, only four built for air drop trials in 1957.

Designed to be dropped from an aircraft by parachute and used for land missions. A commercial private venture built by Hunting Percival Aircraft Company, Luton, England.

Designed by Mr J. Dolphin of Marlow, Bucks. ( Patent No 687794, 1953). Full text here - http://www.milweb.net/webverts/50799/. Similar vehicle is in Saumur, France and I thought that this french design
