  1. Ok, worked them all out but the headlight. Any clues? TIA Mark
  2. Good afternoon all, away from my truck at the moment but travelling in it through France on Sunday and it occurs to me I don't have any spare bulbs on board. Could anyone please advise what headlight / side light / brake light / indicator bulbs I should grab for the trip? Many thanks Regards Mark
  3. Just checking over the bits sent down to me for the tyre fitting to do his thing this afternoon and I noticed that the delivery note on the flaps has been adjusted my hand and a smaller replacement supplied. The order note quite clearly has 12.00-20 printed on it - same size as my inner tubes - but they have crossed it out and written by hand 10.00 / 11.00. And having checked the flaps that is what has been supplied. Does that matter? I just thought I would check on the knowledgable membership here after receiving the very helpful responses to my previous couple of tyre questions. Is the flap protecting the inner tube from the join in the middle between the rims or does it need to go up/over the edge of the rims too? TIA all Regards Mark
  4. That was a typo, they are cross ply and yes, I think they only made them in a cross ply. I went with the Continentals in the end, needed something new as I am about to drive up from Kent to the outer Hebrides in a couple of weeks time and didn’t want to chance the Bargrips for 1800 miles! Mark
  5. The tyre guy is kicking himself this morning , apparently the 90 degree metal stem isn’t an option on 12.5 r20 size that I ended up ordering so he missed that. They are now shipping 12 20 tubes with the correct valves. Mark
  6. Following on from my tyres thread I have ordered the Continentals and they should be with me tomorrow. The inner tubes and flaps have already arrived and I just opened the box to check and noticed that the valve stems were a short stubby inch or so. On my wheels I seem to have metal stems coming out at an angle from the centre of the inner wheel and are about five inches or so long. I am guessing that as a newbie I didn't specify long stems and that might be a problem? Having said that I did clearly describe the wheels themselves and the vehicle so that the tyre fitter knew what he was dealing with. What do I need? TIA Mark
  7. Thank you John, I am ok on the size change but found a cheaper alternative on the fitting in the end, £96 a corner.
  8. Just been quoted £135 + vat per tyre to fit because of the split rims, does that sound reasonable?
  9. My Goodyear Bargrip 12r20 tyres have seen better days and the perishing was flagged up at the last MOT so looking for replacements. Anyone have any experience of Continental MPT 80? I have found some in a 12.5r20, I assume that I wont notice any real difference with the slight size difference and is it ok too fit those on my rims? TIA Mark
  10. Thanks both and yes, I was disengaging the clutch Sean (but thank you for saying it out loud in case!). I used to use the reverse tip in the Landy too as it could get a little tight sometimes. I will grease everything up and gently try again whilst stationary over the weekend. regards Mark
  11. Ok, new owner here but I understand I get 4x2 and 4x4 in high ratio and 4x4 only in low. Is there a knack to engaging 4wd in high? My experience with Landrovers has been rolling at low speed, no load, move the lever but trying that technique in the Bedford and the lever wont budge. Stiff lever or am I doing it wrong? TIA Mark
  12. I have googled but seem to get two answers. Is 10 litres correct? Its a 330 turbo. And I believe the best grade is 15W40 but happy for the collective wisdom on these pages to make suggestions. TIA Mark
