  1. Jon,

Simply amazing.  You are talented beyond belief!  I have been following you since you were just building the turret, and when you started on this endeavor after the volume of encouragement to do so, I couldn't have been more excited.  You are getting so close, and you have to be applauded for your commitment to staying as close to authentic as possible.  I can't wait to see the hull mated with the turret, and even better, one day moving along on it's very own set of tracks.  Keep it up brother...you're truly an inspiration!

  2. M10 ammunition trailer owners,
I am having a run of landing leg extension springs and parking brake handle springs made.  I have a post on the G503 here in the US, but wanted to reach out to the other side of the pond for those of you not on the G503...

Here are pics of the landing leg extension spring:

    M10_ammo_trailer_landing_leg_extension_s

Additionally, I am requesting a run of the parking brake handle springs.  See pics below:
    M10_ammo_trailer_parking_brake_handle_re
    M10_ammo_trailer_parking_brake_handle_sp

If interested in either, please post up, PM or email me so I can get an idea of how many to order...quantity will help drive the prices down a bit.

    Cost??
High end (less than 3 sets/6 springs):  $40 ea. for the landing leg springs, $45 ea. for the parking brake handle springs (higher complexity of bends), plus shipping.
Low end (10 sets/20 springs or more):  $20 ea. for the landing leg springs, $25 ea. for the parking brake handle springs, plus shipping.

So far I have commitments for 7 sets of landing leg springs and 4 sets of parking brake handle springs.

I can get them within one week of placing the order, which I'd like to put in by next Friday (08FEB).

    Thanks, Tom

  3. I have a thread in the motorcycle forum, regarding a Matchless WD I'm restoring, I was browsing over it today as I was going to add a few pics and all the pics in the thread have gone and been replaced with something that looks like a speedo and states 3rd party hosting has been temporally blocked.......

It takes a lot of time sorting through pictures to post and uploading them etc and then to find they have gone. Anyone else have this or is it just my bad luck.

Same happened to me. Apparently photobucket is no longer free. 😡 If you want your pics restored where you've posted them, you have to upgrade your account with them. Not sure what it'll cost as I'm on travel and haven't looked into the issue yet.

  4. As stated, looking for a CH-108 spare parts chest for the RC-58 facsimile set, WWII vintage US radio equipment. If you don't have one but know of one (for sale or not), please let me know. Alternative to buying is taking pics/measurements to reproduce one. Thanks all.

  5. Anyone have the retaining chain for the inter-vehicular connector (jumper cable) installed on their M10 ammo trailer? I need closeup shots in order to buy the correct type of chain as mine is missing.

I also need to know how/where it attaches to the tongue, and details for the ring that goes around the cable. The pics in the manual aren't detailed enough.

Here is the description: CHAIN, weldless, double loop, type 1, S., 0.105 in., 10 1/2 in. long.

    Thanks all,

    Tom

  6. You could ask rather than give you the collector's email address, would it be possible to forward your email to the collector and then he can contact you if he wants to.

If you haven't already given your location and used please and/or thank you several times in your original email, it won't hurt to do so this time.

    Match,

My original email was composed exactly like that. I never ask for contact info, rather ask someone to forward mine on. I'll send a follow-up email though...don't want to pester them but it would be nice to at least get an acknowledgement.

    Draganm,

Thanks for the directions for the VPN proxy...worked like a charm! And of course as soon as you post it they put it up on YouTube...go figure! I had never heard of the occupation of the Channel Islands...that's pretty fascinating. I'll have to add them to my places to visit.

  7. Anyone know who the Italian collector in S3E1 was? They said his name was Maro(?) but they don't credit anyone at the end. I'm searching for an item and looking at his collection he might have one or know where to find one.

    Thanks, Tom

Btw, it's no longer on daily motion but I found it on Youtube:

  9. Hello all,

Reposting this since I failed to update my original post...

I am looking for an MC-308 writing stand that accompanies the RC-58 facsimile set (WWII). I can be contacted via PM or via email at tneill26(at)hotmail.com. Located here in Europe so I'm not too concerned about shipping.

Below is a picture of what I'm looking for. With the flea market and military trading season coming into full swing, maybe someone will see one of these. Thanks.

  10. went and looked at this today . The tow bar has been cut off at the end and the deck is not original but there is most of it remaining Working on possibly buying ithat do they look like way back when?

Good luck with that Bob. I saw that trailer and was intrigued…it's a pretty cool item. I was there in mid-December and was appalled at the state of the vehicles, both the ones inside the fenced viewing area and the ones behind/beside the museum. Vehicles with hatches/doors left open to the environment, open top vehicles uncovered, accessories left stacked up and lying around outside in the weather, etc.

I inquired into whether or not they would consider selling an item behind the museum that was falling into disrepair and was curtly told that the item wasn't for sale. It's sad when museums neglect the equipment that has been bestowed upon them…..

Truly….good luck, maybe you'll have better luck than I did.

  11. I looked at an M3A1 about 2 weeks ago and got these measurements. Not sure if the support is original or not though as there were several modifications/reproduced parts on the track. Can anyone verify these?

Scan of my measurements (missing two measurements for bolt holes):
