    Thanks for that info,

It looks like I will drop the whole set up and mounting plate in a oner, I’ll rig up some sort of jig which I can lift up with a Jack then lower it down to remove it, I presume it’s a heavy piece of kit when off 😬

On the control tube near the bottom, there is a square block fastened around it above the casting, do you know if this is removed the tube will split to allow the mounting plate to slide down?

  2. Chris,

Is there any easy way to remove the motor🤔

Mine is standing on its legs so i am working upside down, 4 top bolts and 2 at the front from underneath, but! Those swivel castings that seems to fit to brackets either side if the motor, does it mean those gearboxes/diffs need to come off first?

Would be much easier if i could find a way of turning it over.

  3. A working quad M45.

it was slow on the elevation so lifted it off the truck and set it on a frame die I could get under.

the only thing I did was disconnect the elevation coupling so I could manually move to check if binding

connected the coupling, the battery, switched onand I have nothing! No motor start. Tried the circuit breaker to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas on what I could check? I earthed it to the Meg terminal on the battery 😞

  4. Ben,

I bought some of those belts, a lot better fit than the ones I had, thanks for that.

elevation still incredibly poor, traverse is spot on! Thinking I might have to unbolt from the trailer and hoist it off to take a better look, do you know the measurements for the 3 legs? I’ll have to rig a stand up to set it on. 👍

Nice, did you notice any high current draw or overheating on the motor?

For the past 5months the motors been in and out trying to work out why it's pulling 150amps. Currently being rewound which hopefully will get to the bottom of it.

Hi, just checked my motor and it’s pulling 154 amps. What should it be?

did you get your issue sorted?

I have a Matchless G3WO with an unusual frame number, WD1001

could this be a frame used from a spares depot on a military rebuild?

I will try to attach a photo, engine number is G3/40 14029 from C7183
