Was that the invisable trailer then steve!!!!
Haha

Yes when i bought it the engine blew on first road test had oil in it but i think it was a cheap detergant in it as it washed the engine inside and welded the caps to the crank!!! It was easier to get a engine than repair the old unit
thanks chris

but we can try
the windscreen was frrrreeeeeeeeee the best price
im lucky really im among the scammells up here locally there are 4 explorers (3 in my shed all on road i might add)
2 pioneers and 1 constructor within a 20 mile radius
all of us help each other as you have to

haha

I bet that guy selling engines wont get 600 for both for scrap it 60 quid a ton here so i reckon about 200 for both is about right
-
thanks for that i made the gap between fan and rad a fraction bigger than the distance between the crank pully and cross member the engine is mounted forward against front crossmember so it shouldnt be able to move forward
or at least thats what im hoping
-
perhaps shes a hiker on the pull or shes got a flat

i think alot of people disconnect the cooler when swapping engines to diesels mine was and still is disconnected but ive tested it and it holds water sxk460 was also disconnected supose its just one more job to do
when i went with my friend who bought sxk460 we noticed the cooler had been disconnected but thought it would be ok on a drive home
it wasnt the oil pump didnt work pinon ran dry and bearing went
after recovery home we realised that it wasnt the fact the cooler was diconnected there was a broken oil pump cover in the spares box a previous owner had broken the rear cover(and pump) replaced the cover but left the damaged pump in the axle causing failure in a big way
not what you want on a drive home really!!

What specs on 690?its just a 680 power plus wid a turbo (i think)
fan mod works a real treat fully on now and actually pulls the hair on yer head when your in front (good job i aint got a wig haha) draws as much air through as a meadows thats all that matters so lets hope thats an end to the cooling problems
i have now got hold of a drawbar trailer for the scammell so even more work begins now an shows are upon us
removed wooden floor today as its totally rotten on the trailer and im going to shot blast it tomorrow pics tomorrow will be added so stay tuned
i thought hobbies were supposed to let you chill out when ?
Thanks chris

i have now got hold of a second hand windscreen for the explorer this was local and i got it for free (even better) so i decided to pull out the old paneling and see if the old screen could be fitted back in
i was surprised how bad the fit looked compared to what i had pulled out but after checking in the garage i looked at the other 2 explorers and they were a no better fit than mine so it was bolted in and sealed up
