Very nice where do you find all the items,
People bring them to me to be honest, since the first one i got which had been for sale for 2 years people, learnt that i am into Horse Drawn bits of kit and asked me could i restore things for them like the Royal Logistic Corps who i restored a GS wagon for, then some chap see me with the GS wagons at a event and said " i got one of them rotting in my wood" and so on, a chap approached me last year with a great war hand cart sent me some pictures then never heard from him again !
the more i display the kit more people say " i know where there is one of them,or something like that "

Its been with me for about 2 years now its lids are missing but all the rest is as built except the woodworm holes, very famous picture of the devonshires asleep under a few on the Somme ! Its a small project that needs doing in the future.

Nigel, you are going to have to buy a couple of power scources. :cool2:
Need to get a few loft conversions done this year for that to happen mate ! buying them is not a problem its keeping them, i can park the Gs Wagon up in the garage and leave it there in the snow and winter months ,cant leave them to themselves ,however I really would love that ! especially as i now have every bit of kit i need to put them in draught (Just got a pair of swingle trees )

Excellent work are you taking it to War and peace ,:cool2:
Yes Mate it will be parked with the Gs Wagon .if we dont have the filtration done then it will asume the guise of " for animal use only" as per the famous photo of the horse stuck in the mud !

Finally got the tank back in the frame and fixed for the last time after waiting for new hoops to be made, the team turned up bright as buttons and we set to our tasks, including cutting down dozens of old long 3/8 bolts and re-threading them again in 3/8 witworth, we fitted the pole socket to take the ash draught pole and bolted it all up ! it as come on a long way since we collected it from pompey last year, the whels are unpainted because they are not ours they are on loan till ours come back ours are the dust covered upgraded 200 C as per the Wagon GS mk X * Ours should be here next week i believe there is a video of them being bonded with the tyres !

Collected some new and original bits including both new top and bottom retaining straps, two pump mounting brackets (sadly no pumps yet:embarrassed:) draught pole socket ,two swingletrees and a pair of dust caps, ill be water carting over the weekend(thats not cockney ryming slang) putting it back together ,also the new wheels were bonded with the tyres yesterday so hope to have those back by next week!

Those taps are small hooked nose barrel taps made small so they fit inside water bottles and are only quater turn on/off i have one here that was on the watercart we just need to find a good number ! a friens has been chasing around trying to find enough or someone who can supply them !
At this rate we will be able to put a "water in war" event on somewhere ? as there are 4 types of cart/bowser on here plus what the army are using now Maybe a Water company-Army- Us event ?

Hi Ian yes the taps are 18 euro each mate ,
here is the link these are in chrome but they do come in brass !
-
A chap in Ireland has two ! new ones at 18 euros each ! we are looking into having some made, i have a gallon of etching primer you can make use of after you have polished up the tank being "Galv" paint wont stay on like ours and your two tanks this stuff makes sure it does, comes from the War Paint company £40 a gallon ill sort you out best i can, the plumbing is i should think 1"ID galv barrel available everywhere i can get it all threaded for you for free ,leave it with me as im pushing for ours i have a plumbing contractor onside who thinks all this "old" stuff is wonderful ! it seems you have most bits you need minus the filters but we do have techinical drawings thanks to our friend ! So happy days

I own the metal work and Reg plate for a 1915 GS Wagon, im thinking of selling to someone who has more time than me to put it back together, ive already ripped 3 apart and to be honest dont have the time,
it if i sell it to the right person it comes with a set of 1/24th scale constuction drawings and more down the phone and site(my place) visits as you want ! a fully back up advise service ! its almost complete just a few bits of the brake gear missing
but nothing taxing
intrested parties to contact me direct nigel_bristow@sky.com

Id be happy to pay double the scrap price for that ! I only want to get my hands near the pump for a few hours !
