Does anybody know of any forum groups going onto the former airfield at thorpe abbotts in the near future? Ive tried to phone the landowners foreman 3 times to get permission to go on there to take some photos & nothing! Any help appreciated...

i recently asked for permission to photograph the last bits of runway[thorpe abbotts] via the 100bgmm@tiscali.co.uk site!! no joy yet response wise!! any ideas?!

yeah. kind of. thats why its such a crying shame those bits of runway wont b saved. if they could & b made part of the museum, could u imagine that. id b up there all the time!!

the good decent people are out there, we just have 2 find them!! in my job i see both good and the downright sc..!! i hope we have it in all of us, young or old, if the time ever came!!

i read recently about a b24 gunner who was grounded after 6 missions because he was only 16!!! lied about his age...now i cant see 2days kids doing that!!

right. well i saw these sites when i was looking for 100th bg links. dont know why but in the past 2 months anything 2 do with the 100th bg...thats why i asked about taking the runway photos!! theres something about that place. when i got out of my car on that first visit there was, know this will sound stupid, a static electric atmosphere!! anyway thats me for now. speak 2 u soon!!

hi. do u think the landowner would say yes 2 me just taking photos of the surviving bits of runway & thats it? oh saw u & ur jeep on my last visit bout 2 weeks ago...pretty good!!
