Top man. !
Thanks

It will be the Same as a Morris CDSW, i can get you the pictures and dimensions if needed ...
Tom
Yes, the same Tom, or you could be really really helpful and knock up 3 sets for us!

Sadly I have no side panels, for this CS8 or my PU project which has the same engine and layout.
I'm going to have to manufacture two sets!

Hi Guys
i know this is not easily answered but just wanted to gauge peoples thoughts.............
as some of you are following my thread on the restoration of my MCC PU you will know that the engine is the same as the MCC CS8
i'm still in the early stages of running the engine and checking the carb setting etc, However, every time i run the engine, i get a lot of oil dripping out of the bell housing weep hole, now i'm told there is no seal ? but only an 'Oil Thrower' ?
i did not actually rebuild the engine, it was done for me earlier in the year, but of course until it had oil and ran, it did not present a problem.
so my question is, should there be a seal ? could the 'thrower' be faulty ? but more importantly, can this be remedied from the bottom end, i.e. not having to take the engine out ?
and no, i have not over filled the oil, i have good pressure when running ( only run it for 4 - 6 minutes at a time)

Hi Everyone,
Having been around and involved with MV's for the last 40 odd years, I thought it was about time I became an active member of the HMVF. My name is Keith, known by several of the old school members as Agent O. Vehicle wise , I currently own a 42 Dodge WC 51, which I rescued back in 1977, a 42 slat grill, fully restored over the last couple of years, a 1942 C15 fitted with a polsten rear body, unrestored and in amazing condition, a 43 Bantam trailer, and last but not least, just recovered from the New Forest, a 44 Ford GPW.
Hopefully I will chip in with words of wisdom from time to time..
Hello Keith
good to see you on the Forum mate.

Hi guys
I recently found these two Solex Carbs with 40 AIP -2 on them, it was thought they were 6 cylinder Humber, but they are not.
Can anyone identify which vehicle they fit ?
Cheers

Hi Larry not at the moment as I'm yet to go through the dating process with either the Tilly register or Standard Motor club but being the later UV type it has to be 1943-45.
The project has had a major set back today, I received a call from the shotblasters this morning to inform me that their forklift driver had run over the 2 bonnets & destroyed them.
To say I'm pissed off is a massive under statement, its unforgivable as I'm unlightly to find 1 bonnet let alone 2 !!!!!!!!!
Is that Steve Simms Ian ?

A while back a member here requested a source for some fairly simple vehicle body ironmongery.
I suggested that the items wouldn't be hard to make; the upshot being that I made them for the guy for some pin money.
I personally get some satisfaction from making that kind of stuff myself and realise many on here would feel the same but not everybody is capable or has facilities. I sometimes have to farm some repairs out myself like sleeving brake cylinders for example; the guy that does it says it isn't hard but has all the machines and consumables ready and in constant use.
If any one else has a similar need for a "blacksmithing" service please consider P.M.ing me; I or one of my blacksmith friends will consider copying or creating as necessary.
Thank for your offer Rustexpert, I'm sure some on here will be thankful.

I have a large collection of original WW2 uniforms, and though I keep them in reasonably sealed clear plastic zip up covers, I'm always concerned about cloths moth.
I used to be able to buy the old fashioned Moth Balls, very smelly but they worked well, trouble is now they are illegal, there are some poor quality lookalikes sold on eBay that smell like the originals when you open the packet but the smell disappears within days.
So I'm trying to gauge what other people use ?
You can get sprays but I'm not sure about spraying onto valuable uniforms ?

Hello Ray
Welcome to the forum
This is very interesting but I think you will be very lucky to find any of these chaps. Have you tried to see if there is a 38 squadron assioation ? If so they may have details of those still alive.
Regards

I'm not going this time as were going on a cruise instead but my Morris C8 will be there with 4 of my mates.
Will properly go back to the Hop Farm next year if there are good reports as I prefer the venue.

Well I'm not going this year, no particular reason, just lost a bit of interest in it, might just go for a day though to trawl the stalls

Good to see you are still pushing on Mike, though I envy your weather, it's too bloody cold here to venture into the w/shop!
Keep up with the the postings, it's good to see.
Hopefully next month I will get my inspiration back to push on with the PU.
Cheers
