  1. So, the final admission that there was never a real intention to put the show on, it was just a way of taking and then keeping other people's money.
  2. I certainly second that recommendation! Yorkshire Wartime is a wonderful show.
  3. Thanks for that but that site has been there since autumn last year (it is just 2022's site with that year's show dates changed), nothing on it works and it has not been updated since. I am glad I never paid because it looks pretty certain that there will be no show and no refunds either. Any bets on whether the company that owes the refunds is still solvent?
  4. Where is the 2023 show currently being advertised? I cant find anything dated later than autumn 2022 under Festival, Revival or Show?
  5. Well, that is a surprise! No sign of the W&P stall at Stoneleigh. I cannot imagine why, I mean they promised to run a show in 2023, maybe they dont want any entrants to save on toilets and showers?
  6. Anyone got any firm news? Website for 2023 exists but seems to be a "front sheet" only with no content and none of the links work. Show is not on the Hop Farm programme. Obviously looks like it is off but has there been any official statement? I guess that the presence or not of a stall at Stoneleigh will be definitive?
  7. I dont think you will get much support for that view. The forced move to Folkestone was unfortunate but prior to that, the show that Rex put on got better every year, at least it did since 1995, first year I went.
  8. Wonder where they got the toilets from?
  9. I have no crystal ball (and hope 2023 does go ahead by the way) but I do wonder why they are listing it with apparently very little support this year and can expect even less next year? Do they have to either refund now or honour previous tickets on a "delayed event" basis? If so then booking 2023 presumably removes the need to refund immediately? If War and Peace (or War and Peace Revival, whoever is running it) goes bankrupt between now and July 2023, I guess that prepaid tickets will never be refunded or honoured as the debtor company will no longer exist, the assets staying with the remaining company? As I said, I will gladly attend if a/. it runs! and b/, they supply or pay for transport as they have done in the past. I certainly will not pay £125 per vehicle (3) plus £400 odd for each other crewmen to camp.
  10. Never! Surely not? I am stunned.
  11. Has anyone a copy of the "small print"? I have been told that it says in effect "no refunds/roll overs if we cancel, no matter why we do it". Can anyone confirm or deny this? Reading/guessing between the lines for the "reason" to cancel, it seems that they are saying there was no infrastructure available to hire (toilets, showers etc???) when they started looking in February? That being the case, why not say so instead of taking bookings from April onwards. I have neither booked in nor paid but I would be mightily p!ssed off if I had! Cancellation notice says "see you in 2023". Yeh, right!!!
  12. Ron, I think you are missing the point with the "his choice" point. My vehicles probably do less mpg than any truck and they have (mostly) to be low loaded to any show and that is my choice and can obviously be expensive but, to me, it is the principle of whether I should also have to pay to enter my vehicles in a show intended to show a financial profit to the organiser? To me, the answer is no, no matter how large or small an amount. Why would I want to pay to restore, transport, fuel etc my vehicles and then also pay more so someone else can then charge the public to look at my vehicles?
  13. Saw W&P had a stall at Stoneleigh today, although the banner was W&P Revival. They were putting a lot of effort into drumming up support from both exhibitors and stall holders. Dont know if they had any success in their endeavours.
  14. I had not noticed but checked and yes "tracked tanks" (arent all tanks tracked???) do indeed get in free with 2 free crew camping. A definite move in the right direction but most tanks will have a crew of 3 to 5 and the benefits of more bookings òwill be undone if each extra crew member is charged the £350 camping charge. Not clear if low loaders will be charged and/or support cars but tanks and crews cannot get to the show without them
  15. One positive sign: I got a reply to my third email about whether their truck was available to move my tank and armoured cars as I do not have a low loader of my own. Admittedly, reply was in essence, "your query has been passed to the appropriate person" but at least a reply so my attendance at W&P is still in the balance! I note no one has replied to my earlier posts here asking if any large and/or armoured vehicles had booked in yet. If I do attend, I hope I am not the only armour that does!
  16. I havent had a reply (yet?) to 2 emails on the same point.
  17. Well no one has replied and said they have entered a heavy, tracked or armoured vehicle yet. I wonder how many of the 300 entries so far are NOT light vehicles as I think every show should have a variety of large and small, heavy and light, armoured and soft skin, tracked and wheeled exhibits. Too many of any one class makes for a lopsided and less interesting show. I still hope to go with tracked and wheeled armour but that depends on transport availability.
  18. War and Peace used to be the no 1 show for large, rare vehicles, particularly armoured ones. The numbers of these at the show appear to have been declining over the years but it is difficult to be certain although armoured vehicles getting into the arena certainly greatly reduced between (say) 2014 and 2019. Query is, have any readers of this forum actually booked in any such vehicles yet for 2022? Do they intend to?
  19. Oh dear. That is a hell of a lot of money, I suspect that they will not have to take on extra staff to cope with the rush of bookings. The size and breadth of the show is its main attraction so any reduction in the number or variety of exhibits can only do the show harm. With fuel prices, this increase could not come at a worse time. I hope show is a success but it seems to have a number of hurdles to clear to be that.
  20. 5 minutes ago I looked at visitor tickets and the website has reverted to "tickets available shortly" despite it being the 25th, the delayed date they were supposed to be on sale. Stall and vehicle bookings are still saying you can book in from 19th but you cant get any further than that. No details about charges. Not looking good which is a pity.
  21. It seems the delay until 25th is only selling tickets for the public that are not available until then. Stall, vehicle etc bookings remain at 19th.
  22. No chance these are still available I guess??
  23. Well that is good to hear. I still suspect that the very late bookings will reduce the number of entrants as well as making organisation more problematic but if they can pull it off then great!
  24. I gave the W&P website a careful inspection and noted 3 things: one, all the info looks good and genuine, two: as mentioned above, no indication of price or how the 'late booking fees' system may work as the lateness of bookings will not be the entrants fault and three: the word "Revival" does not appear anywhere. I am sure that this missing word has a great significance but can only imagine why is has been deleted??
