I have to say that following a Martian recovery up a moderately steep hill - this year or at the end of 2015 - was a very frustrating business!
Chris
Every thing about a Martian is frustrating....... That's the best thing about them.....👍🏼

It's been there for over 25 years..... I think it was dragged back about 100 yds in the mid eighties and then nothing....

Welcome! Another Gloucestershire man! The more the merrier!,,,
we have Martians in our village.... Lol
-
Welcome on board
Nice choice of vehicle, what sort of state is it in?
not too bad, not too good... 64 years old, fair bit of worm, non runner at the mo, but going the right way.... Also a Recovery has joined the stable.... She is a runner so onwards etc....

Yup Fv1110, that's the last one remaining, 3 Fv1103 and an Fv1121 have already had the chop. Some of it is in my shed, need the weather to warm up then go get a bit more.
Bill, I'll Pm you the wherebouts, as I think the owner would rather the location is not overly publicised, as I believe he is fed up with people just wandering around willy nilly. If you ask permission first, he's not actually a bad chap.
Hi, just wondering if there was any chance of anything left at said site...I'm after a few bits for mine,...or a number to find out.?
Rgds Will.

not really the winch im after, its the Truck itself, ive read a bit about to few different exmod lorries and quite like the idear of owning/ rebuilding one.. ive now been looking at and am still reading the "Leyland Martian Gallery" as suggested buy @radiomike7 and im more convinced than ever..
- practically at the end of the day its a peace of motor heritage that I can own and enjoy I would look to make all the bells and whistles work going forward but its not actually being bought to do a job.. that being said should tasks arise.. like bogged combines ect..
- ive gotton more interested now, were in the process of rebuilding a very early Fordson Major and this is going to include a rework of the hydraulic system so I shall be taking lesson learn forward...
Hi Samro, if you'd like to come and have a cuppa some time I've a Martian artillery tractor, and in the next few weeks I'll be picking up my Recovery to bring back home.... I'm only a skip from Tewkesbury,
Will.

Well, got the first Martian (artillery tractor)home in January.... Now looks like it's getting a partner in the shape of a recovery variant..... Spent yesterday clearing it of bushes, a Jerry can of fresh fuel, new batteries, a bit of pre ignition care and away she went..... Hope you're all well, I'm still looking for B81 bits if anyone has them.?
regards Wills.

Hi everyone, well she's home..... V long day Sat/Sun but to the yard the Martian came....!
happy days.
-
Thanks for the warmest of welcomes!!! She's not in bad condition, just a non runner, and has been so since the last chap got her...... Call me mad but the first time I'll see her is when she comes to my yard/workshop!!!
I never thought I'd have the chance to own a Martian of my own, so in at the deep end.....
Shes all original, so will let you know when I do......
Engine bits will prob be first issue, then tyres.... Q. What is the right size? 1500/20 is in my head for some reason.....
All hints and leads appreciated....

Good evening all, just a little intro,
Ive found myself buying a Martian, a bit of an obsession since doing my apprenticeship with 93VDW REME.
Its on its way home soon, and then the fun starts.... (To start it is just the first bit...)
