Have on the road and in use 64 Army contract TRW 500 in my collection and wonder if others can comment as to whether their machines flood (solex Carb) if using either of the start settings unless in the dead of winter.
Found mine spills fuel out from the bottom of the air filter if she fails to start on the first kick but once started you can leave fuel tap open all day long with no problem so clearly the float valve is shutting down correctly.
So wondering just how cold does it need to be before resorting to the easy start settings - yesterday tried starting her after a fortnight without any use of easy start setting just a little throttle started first kick.
Also is there a source of gaskets available anywhere - Burton bike rebuild kit doesn't appear to have gaskets and I have spare jets in a couple of part carbs?

have tried to introduce before but message doesn't show on forum - so here goes again.
Name is Matt live in Northamptonshire interest is Classic Motorbikes - I have 9 on the road bikes from late 1930's through to 2009 Moto Guzzi V7 Classic including a 1964 Army contract Triumph TRW 500 - hence trying to get on this group.
Attend many transport shows and 40's events through the year and help run a local Classic, no fees no officials, motorcycle club.
Can't find how to put pictures on site so any instructions would allow me to include a couple of my TRW and anything else maybe my 1939 B23 De Luxe (very rare beast).
Matt
Hope this time introduction posts?
