  1. I've been toying with the idea of purchasing a Rolls Royce Meteor to restore to running order once my present (non-military) project is completed.

I''m wondering if anyone call tell me what manuals/course notes/literature there is out there for the Meteor and best sources to obtain. More than happy with paper or PDF type formats.

Any pointers are hugely appreciated :-)

    Regards

  2. Many thanks for the replies. Really interesting to hear other people's recommendations. Have started to look for them already in the usual places. The idea of a tick sheet is a brilliant idea. Especially for someone like myself with a memory like a goldfish.

I certainly will seek some local advice. Would prefer to read up on the subject first and have some idea of what people may talk to me about. I think possibly or hopefully it would show I am a bit more serious and worth investing time on.

  3. Hello,

I am lucky enough to be in the position where I am now able to fund the purchase and restoration of a project. I am hoping to acquire a wartime Jeep restoration project and know that for the uneducated it can be a minefield. I really want to be as fully briefed as I can before I go out looking at things and am tempted to part with my cash.

I already have a copy of Ren Berniers Jeep Guide book on its way to me but wondered what other publications (either books or magazines) were about that give a good insight into buying and restoring a Jeep ?

Any help offered would be hugely appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance

    Regards Martin

  4. Hello,

I have visited the forum a number of times over the years and thought that it was finally time to sign up and start joining in.

I am lucky enough to be in the position where I am now able to fund a restoration project. Over the years I have looked forward to the day that this could potentially happen and looked into many different projects looking at what appeals, what I could afford and also see to completion. The idea of a wartime Jeep project continually sat top or near top of the list.

Rather than rushing in and making a costly mistake now that the dream can happen I am starting to do some more in depth reading into the subject and the forum seems a great friendly place to gain advice, discuss other people projects and maybe make some new friends along the way.

Its the first time I will have embarked upon such a project so the learning curve will be steep but..................saying that if you don't try you will never know if its possible to achieve. I very much believe that if you ask the right questions and seek the right help anything can be achieved. Well almost ;)

    Regards Martin
