Those mounts look like a PW addition
If it is the sight I think it is it should have a soft rubber eye piece that perishes and falls off. Might help if you have to haggle for it.

Thanks to Ed and Trevor,

UFF201 features back in 2008 on this thread.....appears not to have moved since. Data plate reveals 48RB78, rebuilt 3/50, overhauled 1/64 and 3/84. Lifting gear has a plate - Herbert Morris Ltd
Hi Trevor, looks fairly complete, shame to see it neglected like that. Where abouts is it?

Quote;- Could it be sowing the seed of thought for your next model? The Martian to go with the howitzer....
So many great subjects to choose from so little money, & so little life left to do them all !
Martian is quite high on the list, but then so is the 432, 434, Antar & trailer, Conqueror, Bedford RL, Humber 1 Ton, Saxon, Militant Mk1, 2 Land Rovers & a 105 light gun ........its a very top heavy list:D:D
If only the wife would stop picking the wrong lottery numbers. Its all her fault.

Hello Mark,
Welcome to the forum.
Do you still have the 5.5" also?
Regards
Mel
(from Bradford)
Hi Mel,
nice to hear from you, yes I still have the 5.5.
i have seen some nice photos of your outfit lately. Either a windscreen or the MVT calender so I guess you are still having fun with it.

Good to see another gun tractor owner on the forum. Do you have any photos of the restoration that you could share? Would be very helpful for me when I can get back to the restoration of mine.
Cheers
Ed

Hi my name is Mark Williams, I live in Shropshire. I own a Scammell pioneer R 100 gun tractor which I saved from the scrap mans torch in 1995 in a very rough condition. I restored her over a two year period, attending the first few shows as a running restoration. I collected two more pioneers over the years with an Sv2 and TRMU30 both saved in similar circumstances but due to health problems let them go to new owners. Have enjoyed looking at the Scammell pioneer gallery and thought it was time I joined.
5.5" gun...many questions

Hi, the matador is the 5.5 gun tractor, the Scammell was the gun tractor for the 7.2 on the old 8" carriage and a variety of pre war guns, The 5.5 was the only gun I could find as the majority of 7.2s were given to the Indian army after the war. I do have ammunition boxes, drill round bag charges, dummy shell and a couple of fuses along with most of the equipment strapped to the gun if that is any help.
