  1. Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on this 3/4ton Dodge Chassis Number. What did it come out of the factory as, what body did it have and what was the build date? I believe the number is 81621856

  2. Do you have any pitures of how this was done mate? Also where did you hear about this?

    Chris

Don't forget that for the first year or two of the war, masks were improvised with black manila paper. It doesn't come easier and cheaper than that. The motoring press regularly had letters from private motorists complaining that they'd been reported for non-approved masks whilst the army continued to use paper on existing vehicles.
  3. Hello All,

I have purchased a new dash for my 1941 Chev blitz and just have a question about it. The dashes in them were ones out of civilian cars and the bezels on them were chrome, did the military leave them chrome or paint them?

    Hi Chris,

No pictures readily to hand, but I seem to remember there is a pic of the blanking plate fitted in one of the drivers handbooks. Very simple to make too.

    Regards Richard

  7. Hi Richard,

Thanks for the help mate. Just to make clear what is the "Radiator Blanking Plate"? also do you have pictures of the tripod or the plate mounted?

    Chris

Hi Chris,The two loops at the rear edge are for the radiator blanking plate to strap to when in use. The others are to secure a Bren gun tripod.Regards Richard
  8. Hi Mate,

I may be able to help but I first need to know what country your father in law served with and what period?

    Chris

    Hi,

    Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

  9. Hello all,

After reading in some places it has been said that XXX Corps is an Armoured Corps, is this so or is it a Staff Corps? Also is XXX Corps all ranks of officer or just higher ones?

    Chris
