  4. Ok not technically windproof. I just seem to default to the common parlance for this smocks.

This is the (already discussed on previous posts)

1941 issue green denim smock issued to mountain troops and the basis for the other smocks we know that came after.

    great smock:D

  6. I have a used olive green 1978 dated MkIII NBC smock and trousers that are surplus to requirements. Size medium. They have some exterior marks, but are otherwise quite tidy.

They can either be collected from me at Military Odyssey on Saturday 24th August or from my home in Bishops Stortford (near Stansted Airport) at a weekend or evening or from the West End of London during the week.

PM me to arrange if seriously interested.

hi do you have any photos please

    matt

  9. NO SBS type........all 63 pattern full-zip green gabardine.............no idea on prices until / if I can get a deal......very few may be available (and one spoken for already !)..........all size 8 (largest made) and little-used, dates between 65 and 70............deal may/may not go ahead - depends on what I have to swap and whether collector wants to let any go...........won't be cheap if available !! These are extremely rare to find today...........

sure ,, thanx for the info

i m really after an sbs type ,, if one ever pops up i would pay good money for one cheers matt

  10.

Not certain about any pre-42-43 snow-cammo garments, but I would assume local improvisation was the order of the day ! Seems the later heavy snow cammo windproofs were supplemented by 44 by a simplified lightweight oversmock and trousers, lacking pockets, etc.......but the usage of the earlier garments right up to the end of the war suggests that large stocks were still available for issue........:D

hi there ... would there be any of these denim fabric for sale , as i m looking to complete my collection , i m also looking for the sas sbs canoeist smock ,, as i would pay good money for ,, please let me no if possible thanx matt

  11. Afraid not as been after one for years that didnt need a lottery win to buy and while this isnt in the best of nick I am keeping hold of it as foolishly sold an original unmessed with smock a good few years back for peanuts.

Did you see this one that sold on Ebay the other day----

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121085786482?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

no problem i understand ,, if you ever do ,, you have a buyer right here cheers ,, i will take a look at the recently sold ebay one ,,

  12. I wouldn't say they are common Steve but they do come up from time to time and will often fetch in excess of £100...

I had a mint 'Smock Drab' size 2 iirc sold about two years ago for c.£150. WWII stuff is just not my thing so I sold it on shortly after acquiring it.

I do have a friend who is looking for the orginal first pattern camo windproof smock if anyone has one they wish to sell/trade?

hi there i m wondering if you are interested in selling this cheers matt
