  1. Do all the felt. That will cure most rattles and its cheap as well as simple. It will require taking the door top apart but if you can operate a rivet gun you will have no issues. I found having a the edge of a big thick washer helps with inserting the felt strips as a screwdriver may damage the felt. YMMV

  2. Last night, a post on the Facebook page 'Post war military vehicle group appeared' from someone who W&P would seem to owe money to. He posted that ticket sales would commence in mid March.

I asked him where this information came from and he replied  "I phoned W@P last week, they informed me that ticketing will be open from mid March, I then looked at the Hop Farm events page to discover that there is no mention of W@P, indeed, there are Hop Farm events advertised for the supposed dates".

The W&P web page hasn't changed and all the social media links on it are dead.

There has been no advertising that I can see  and according to the post above, they are already being taken to SCC (and losing).. At this stage, what's the point?

Would be great to have a similar show in the UK.

Or in Europe, say Belgium or south-west of the Netherlands so you can come over to our side of the channel.

I think that we would love to, especially if it catered for more modern (ie Cold War) vehicles. The shows in Europe tend (and I realise that's a generalisation) to focus on WW2 - I'm planning on going to the September Show at Panzermuseum East in Denmark, just to see what a show is like in Europe.

  4. I wonder if the real reason is that many people balked at the price rise and attendance was so reduced that it wasn't worth doing? I also wonder where this leaves those who were deferred from 20 and 21?

  5. So, the plan is to go across the water to The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark in my 1987 military 110. I remember that there was some talk of export paperwork but I have used the search function but can't find anything. What is the current drill regarding going on holiday with the Rover? I fully intended to be gone for a week tops and then drive it back to blighty!

  6. I think that a big part of the problem is that the management / PR team can't or won't engage with the very people it's relying on. For example, Capel came in for some criticism for banning any German WW2 representations. Instead of hiding and turning off comments, they actively engaged and explained why they had taken the decisions that they had. I don't go to Capel, nor do I reenact but I appreciated the fact that there was an open discussion about it.  I would suggest that W&P could really do with some positive PR at this point, all that's required is to engage and be honest, surely?

  7. They now have an issue with the booking software, it's all delayed to the 25th.

"Sorry folks, unfortunately the planned launch of our ticketing and booking system which was set to go live today has been pushed back due to a technical issue. Check back on our website from the 25th. warandpeaceshow.com"

    doesn't exactly instill confidence.

  8. Over the weekend, I saw a Daimler Dingo being driven, along with other WW2 military vehicles, on the roads near me.  It only had a tiny red light on the rear offside; no brake or indicator lights were fitted. I'm curious as to the legalities of running a vehicle like this on the road, the wisdom of doing so is more obvious.
