Tom,
....just a suggestion, if you have the bare bones for another crossley tender, why not get a replica body made up, and join the two parts so you'll have two tenders & a staff car!

mike,
.....i spoke to one of our R.D.G PSI's at Dunmore Park TA centre yesterday, and he said it is more than likely to be a badly damaged/broken torsion bar.
If it is a normal road wheel (not the drive wheels), and you can actually lift the road wheel up from the track then the torsion bar inside it is broke. The way around this is to replace it, but first you will have to remove the road wheels from both sides, remove the arms, and you will find this a lot easier to do the work. Remove all the shearings, dirt, etc, inside then fit a new torsion bar in!
hope this helps,

yep, as the guys say, the kit was a mish mash! I went out in tropical dpms, arctic smock, black high leg boots, 58ptn webbing, slr, etc. After a couple of months 'in theatre', i'd been issued desert dpm, acquired us issue desert hi legs, omani issue desert dpm smock, and sand coloured 58ptn webbing (omani issue). The omani stuff came via an uncle of mine who was a WO1 on loan service to the omani army!
