Just joined the HMVF as a source for information with some modelling projects, and possibly to help with the restoration of a former RAF Bedford QL Fuel Bowser, and a Thorneycroft Amazon Crane.

Can anyone shed some light on this Commer Q2 and Queen Mary trailer.
The vehicle was used by Short & Harland for the transportation of Short Stirling Fuselage from a satellite factory to final assembly factory.
The Second photo is a more standard Q2 and trailer.
The first one seems to have had it's roof altered, and the trailer is longer than I'm familiar with. Were these modifications carried out by Short & Harland and has anyone else seen any other examples?
