Hi, i'm new to this...I guess tickets are for exhibitors/trade.Can the general public (me) gain admission at the door or do we need to but tickets too?

Well at least thats one reply!!, I wouldn't mind creating a record of how many half tracks are knocking about the good ole UK with pics, data, history etc. ( no addresses or specific locations please ), its surprising what info comes to light!!

No, I lived about 1/4 mile away, but I know the one you mean, it was parked at the end of the drive out in the open.

My scout hut was just over the road and we used to sneak out of meetings to go and spy on the DUKW!!!

Hi all,

I've recently bought a number of WW2 .30 cal M1 ammo boxes.All have been stripped and repainted various non green colours in the past and I want to strip them again and repaint them back to the original colour.

What is this colour and where can I get it?

If you are interested in half tracks, get to the Ponderosa show in Heckmondwike (9th/10th July), my two will be there, and should be at least another three attending.

My fleet is based in Boroughbridge and Morley so just a hop away on the M62 (ish).

We'll definately be there as we hope to be purchasing a half track in the not distant future...look forward to seeing yours and meeting as many 'local' mv enthusiasts as possible.

Where in Bristol are you located. I'm originally from Staple Hill but now live in Lancs. My son Callum and I are in the process of searching for a halftrack to restore (he's only 10!!).

We get back to Bristol every so often and would love to visit if possible for some inspiration?

With regards to the vehicles buried on Syston common near Bristol, they were Universal carriers.We used to play on the chassis of one in the old railway tunnel running under Staple Hill and the engine of another was discovered behind the old Rodway technical college.

The Shermans buried under the Brains factory were well known by local people, the only fact we knew about them was that they had cast hulls...they were never recovered and must be still there under the car park..
