  1. Hello from Canada,

I am currently restoring a 1943 Ford GPW to British Airborne Configuration and am wondering if you could assist me in a British Hood Number.

    My vehicle is the following;

    1943 Ford GPW
    Serial Number- 116037
    Estimated Hood Number- 20379595
    British Airborne Hood numbers?-
MFG- May 1943 -Dearborn Michigan at the River Rouge Complex at the Main Plant

    Contract # F4

Can anyone assist me in finding a hood number that would be in the proper range?

    Thanks,

    Rob

  2. Hello,

I have been on your site numerous times in the past, but felt I should join.

I am a Sgt in the Canadian Army Reserves, and have a passion for WWII history.

I have restored an 1942 M3 Diamond-T Halftrack, it was the CP of the South Alberta Regiment in WWII. It survived the war and was returned to Canada after the fighting.

The South Alberta's were our predecessor Regiment, I am currently serving with the South Alberta Light Horse, an Armoured Recce Reserve Regiment located in Edmonton and Medicine Hat, Alberta.(Medicine Hat is near BATUS).

I am currently assisting with the restoration of a 1944 T16 Universal Carrier, it is marked as a carrier from the VIII Recce regiment which was the recce unit for the 2nd Canadian Division in WWII.

I also collect WWII militaria and equipment. I have a number of uniforms, quite a few live and deactivated weapons.

I also participate in a shooting sport called Cowboy Action Shooting, or CAS, I compete with blackpowder and reload my own ammunition.

Look forward to posting more in the future.

    Cheers,

    Rob
