Evening Gents,

i don't suppose any of you fine people would have or know where to find pictures of the USMC using mutts in the 1991 Gulf War? I can't find any anywhere and ive been realy intersested ever since Snapper proposed we gear our Mutt up for that sort of era. if this thread is on wron section my humblest apologies, lookeed like most obvious place for it.

I collect 58 Patt kit, Ive got basic web set and i know how to assemble but i have no idea what goes in the kidney pouches and i was wondering if there were any extra pieces of kit that i should get. i was also wondering when the current style of helmet came in to the service i think it might have in the early eighties I'm not sure.

i would to like to collect 58 pattern or later british army gear for an late 70's-early 80's re-enactment display. what should go for and what should for and what should i avoid?i am particularly interested in military police stuff

P.s what sort of price range should i be looking at?

My Dads got a VW ilstis but ive never been alowed near the drivers seat. The closest Ive come to driving something is this half-scale Land Rover that we built last year. I nearly crashed it!!!. i go to as many shows with my dad as possible. but Beltring is the main one obviously. Any who, enjoy the forum.

Anyone had any experiences of road accidents while driving heavy metal? I imagine even a small armoured car (let alone a tracked vehicle) would demolish most modern vehicles that they come into contact with.

I remember a friend of mine told me about a story when he was on exercise in Germany many years ago, riding down a country road on the back of a Chieftan (in a long nose to tail convoy). Suddenly a beetle came up behind them tooting loudly. It turned out to be full of German teenagers leaning out the window making it very plain what they thought of British soldiers, before overtaking on a blind bend.

Unfortunatley there was another convoy of Chieftans coming back that way.

great story sounds like a dumb question but did anyone in the beetle actually live?

My name is Stryker i am the son of Snapper. I joined the forum at the recommendation of my dad he said it was good so i thought i might have a go. basically i've been around tanks since i was about 6 and have loved them all that time. i help my dad at shows like war and peace and various others throughout the year. I'm in the ATC and wanna be in the Army Air Corps. I go battlefield touring with my dad and his gang whenever i can.
