Guys, a friend is restoring a AEC Matador.
One of the plates he has removed has the remains of a divisional or unit symbol uder a layer of paint.
I have tried to take a picture of it without success.
It is a spoked wheel with an arrow through it.
Is that enough to spark any identification from the collective knowledge here?

Hi, Guys
My photos can be accessed here:
I had an excellent week here this year. Yes, I paid more than before but had a week's camping with great mates.
Picked up a pulley for my Jeep Jenny for £5, complete front exhaust new £10, carb seat £10 and some expensive, but rare items.
One comment for the organisers - please allow people to exit near booking in if turning right as it was a real pain to only be allowed to exit towards the M20. The little Co-Op was much more convenient to shop at.

Preferably not working/for spares or repair, just interested in the box
Thanks

Here are a couple of pictures of my matador in its current condition.
I'm after some major parts for it that are missing which include a winch and short propshafts and a starter motor, would anybody be able to help or point me in the right direction.
my first plan is to try and get the old girl fired up, she turns over which is a good start.
Cheers tim
A friend is carrying out a restoration from the original blueprints.
We're stuck at the moment in the position of the battery box. Any pictures would be really helpful.
I'll see if I can get some photos of the work so far.

Anyone off to Malvern that could go by Woodford Halse??
Thanks

Clive, was 'WATER' stamped on it?
-
I've been corrected - it's over 230 acres - more than enough room!
-
I had a look at the link to the google map and I have TRIED to read as many posts as possible.
But the new site looks TINY! About 25 acres - surely that cannot be right - it only looks about 1/4 of the Hop Farm??? :nut:
Sorry if this has already been covered

W&P's video from Trader's Day:

Would you not have to submerge it upright in you were to insert an anode into the tank?
Otherwise, the gases would collect in the tank and the electrolis would fail in those areas where the gas 'pools'.
A large anode 'outside' the tank would work??
Or mollases with a damned good clean afterwards?

From someone on G503:
HiMy Mum gave me a photo of my Dad by a Jeep in Tripoli about 1946/7. He was in the REME and he often used to tell me how he worked on Jeeps and Tanks etc, sadly hes not around to see the one i have now! i know he would have loved working on it. can anyone tell me the unit markings on the one he is standing by please?
Is that a weapon mount on the hood/bonnet/cowel?

Anyone looking for a lift from South East Wales?
I have a minibus with couple of spare seats.
Let your mates know - £10 each max for hire and fuel.
-
Being approached buy a flustered looking steward - "We are desperate for jeeps to ferry the land army girls to the display area".
Having seen some very jolly young ladies earlier in the day I immediately jumped into the Jeep and headed off for the main marquee.
Here we are (courtesy of the W&P site):
They were an ABSOLUTE delight - lovely ladies and a real giggle!
Other moment that made me smile was the look on the guy's face who was sat, casually, on the low wall and watched me with curiosity as I walked up carrying a rather strange looking container.
He gave me a puzzled looked, to which I replied 'Elson'. It took him a secon or two to realise to what I was referring and then leapt up as I emptied the chemical toilet right next to where he had been sat!
An odd location for the Elson point, I thought! (For those of you familiar with it!)

Molasses!!!
Thinking about filling up some old Jerry Cans to clean them out.
I was looking at the electrolisis approach but fancy diluted molasses! Is this the same as the coke method?

I now live on Rotherwas.
The pill box, still visible on Google, was demolished years ago apparently.
The guard room next door is about to be demolished (10/1/20)
There is an underground air raid shelter adjacent which I'll photograph and video in a couple of days
