  1. Well' date=' didn't do much last week. Went to the war and peace revival for a couple of days.

But work goes on, here are some pictures of the seat, ready to install but waiting for the cab liner to arrive.

Once that arrives we'll be able to complete the interior of the Dodge.

Front fenders are also almost ready.

Another thing which must be done is fitting and adapting the brushguard rods.[/quote']

    Niek,

Here are some pictures of the bush guard rods that were original with my Dodge VF. As you can see, they are not flat but round shaped.

Not sure if the VC series had the same but the bush guard is identical.

  2. This video for all of you to enjoy. It is available in HD.

It covers the restoration from initial find to cruising in the Ardennes during the Winter Rally organised by the BMVT.

The restoration took almost 3 years.

Only 3 exemples are know to be in running condition, one exemple a rare VF405 dump is almost completed.

  3. The International 6x6 short chassis was a rare bird on the European war theatre.

This one was parked in 1966.

This Diamond clearly led a second (civilian) life before being parked forever in 1966.

  4. During my quest for parts needed during the restoration of my 1940 Dodge VF 1 1/2 ton, I came across this place...

A great number of US WWII trucks was hidden in between the bushes, the further I walked, the more I discovered. At some time, more than 34 Dodge WC54 ambulances were neetly lined up as if parked on purpose.

More than 60 Dodges WC51,52,62 and 63 poked their noses trough the weeds.

There must have been around 100 GMC's...

Now, 5 years later, the place is empty...

  5. Many Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton truck cabin parts were just taken from the civil production.

Check following link for http://www.oldchevytrucks.biz/34_46/t1.asp?page=18 cabin parts.

I was able to find almost anything needed.

There is also http://www.bowtiebits.com/store/store_sub.cfm?Category_ID=1 with many Chevrolet truck parts from the 1940's . I found new master brake cylinder and brake cylinders for all wheels of my 1943 G7117.

    Success!

  6. Only recently did I fnd out about this magnificent site, being from 'the Continent' where most MV forums are French.

My hobby (in my spare time I must say) is finding, restoring and driving WWII US vehicles.

The common passion for MV's with the folks here will certainly be a boost when some times during restoration you feel like giving up. (which never end up doing of course)

Hope to read and share with you many fine threads!

    Bart
