hi
still looking for a truck..
A SUMB has come up on the bay of fleas, are they good?
1500 sounds cheap, is there a reason they are cheap?
It has a bit of rust in the cab which I can sort other than that it looks ok and he says it is fine.
Don't want to drive 200 miles to look at a rubbish truck especially as have little experience of said trucks..
It is legal so can be driven home subject to finding enough fuel stations
thank you
Al

hehe, not wasted time nor confussed, but I am learning a bit
There are many vehicles I would love to own and run but many are out of my reach
I really like the idea of REO multifuel, especially with the free fuel post just put up!!
I just need to keep looking
-
Ahhh, that explains a fair bit thank you
I like the multi fuel idea is 6k the normal price?
-
OK, getting confused
http://www.milweb.net/classifieds/large_image.php?ad=47429&cat=4
Reo is not GMC, which is deuce and a half?
is it just Reo that is multifuel?
HAR-4, too rare ?
spares etc.

You'll save on average at least £1000 a year in fuel if you buy a REO!!
Get freindly with your local garages who will gladly give you contaminated fuel for free and happy fuel-cost free motoring!!!
Might be a few more grand expensive to buy, but you'll save the difference in fuel in no time and also have a far more reliable truck.
Bedford's are great but if its petrol you'll find yourself making frequent visits to the petroleum station!
I must say that there is a supurb looking REO for sale on milweb at the moment, £6500ono I think. Go rob your piggy bank and go for it.
I would love a REO but unfortunately I would be living in it if I paid that much and the mrs found out!!!
may be not so bad??:cool2:

Hi
I'm biased but I like Reos. Nice looking and sounding and cheap to run. Plenty of space and not too slow on the road.
M
I like the REOs too, didn't think they would be cheap to run though?
-
Dont know if these have been spotted before
At a yard in Dursley
At a "storage facility" in Dursley
-
That RL on the bay, green godess support vehicle, is lovely
2700 i could cope with, 4 1/2 k is a bit much for me. A bit less sparkle I think
Found a power wagon on there too
-
Give us a few of your idea's, and we'll help you spend your cash. :-D
All the best,
Andy
hehe, no problem spending it, its explaining to the mrs were it went :argh::shake:
What do I want?
something affordable to buy and to run would be good :???
I like the look of the old stuff, commers, bedfords etc,REO look fantastic but a bit much for me really. Matadors are cool
wc 52 powerwagons :-D Allready have a Landy
I would like tax exempt and also like the sound of mot exempt as it saves the once yearly hassle which means the occasional use doesnt cost a lot and it doesn't eat and drink while parked up for weeks on end.
Use?
Shows :-D weekend romps :coffee: driving round town looking cool :cool2:
giving me an excuse to get out of the house :-D
I think you know the thing
Money issues...
i haven't got a lot but... could find some
I have little idea of what they go for or what aftercosts are involved. fuel economy is desirable and I have read about multi fuel engines which i fancy as veg oil etc is allready being played with?
Facilities?
I have storage in a field and i can get up to my workshop though not in it, so at least spanners and welders etc can be utilised if needed.
still possible?
cheers
Alan

Right then I have said hi and now the questions start
I am looking for a truck!:coffee:
Don't know what as i don't know what is available
What do i want?
Facility for sleep etc in the rear, have seen radio wagons or wooden boxes and also sheds built inside a canvass back, all fine
4x4, I guess that 6x6 would too expensive to run
Commers, Bedfords, Austins all look great, I have seen plenty of French and other European stuff but not as pretty
If it has a winch or any toys on board then thats even better :yay:
Soooo
opinions, suggestions, warnings :-D
thanks peeps
Alan

time to visit the general board

Hi...
there done that
Name is Alan and I reside in deepest darkest Gloucestershire, into all sorts retro mainly because i can fix em
Current main transport is a 200TDI defender I rescued from a hedge sometime ago, just needed a lump of chassis replacing
Have thought about MV ownership many times but never get there, maybe this time I will.
Probably looking out for 4x4, K9, TK, etc. I think 6x6 would be too thirsty for me, a Zill 131 at 6mpg  :shake:
looking to build a camper in the back and do shows or just bugger off for weekends and relax somewhere :coffee:
I can weild a spanner and have some useful kit like welders, plas, lathe etc so repair is possible :-\

that sounds cool.
Don't know what truck yet. been looking at the SUMB as it is affordable to buy in petrol form but a Jimmy sounds much better when you talk multifuel
Was up at Kemble Saturday and had a chat to a couple of people which was good.
