Hi Phil,
As usual we will be doing our convoy trip to War and Peace, don't ask me what the route is though, as I just follow the truck in front. :-D
We should hit the limit of 8 vehicles in the convoy though all towing trailers and 1 towing an extra jeep. :-D
Would be good to catch the Jeep Vexin crew driving to the show though, as they would be coming from France and they always travel in convoy and full kit as well. Just not sure when they are actually coming, but could find out when and what route if you were intersted?

Hmm, I will ask Kjell the next time I catch him, as I have imported a couple of trucks from there, and a friend is importing one in a couple of months time ....... hopefully :oops:

The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it.
The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver.
A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month.
On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times.
They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a NIP with your monthly bill.
If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website.

It's the same as if you want to renew your tax through the DVLA website.
All fine and dandy it you have an MOT, but not so if your vehicle doesn't legally need an MOT.
I was trying to renew my Tax disc on line and when they question you about the MOT, they say :
My vehicle has been issued with a new style MOT :
The options are :
Yes / No / Not Applicable.
So you use the not applicable option, finish the rest of the form and then it tells you that you can't get a tax disc as they have no record of a valid MOT certificate for that vehicle !!! :argh:
You can also renew your tax disc over the phone .... except ... yup, they have to be able to see a valid MOT certificate to be able to send you a new tax disc.
Why send you the letters about it all regarding the vehicle whos tax is due for renewal when we can't actually use the website !!! :argh:
Ended up having to rush down the post office to do it.

You can log onto this site and tell them you area and they will send you email updates each day of the nearest 5 cheapest petrol stations :
I have been watching the prices drop for the last 4-6 weeks.
The lowest in my area is at 84.9p

You had better watch what you say about Dodge's. Mine is the convoy's breakdown truck at the moment. :-D
My baby can pull almost anything. :evil: It pulled the Clubmobile from Peterborough doing 40 all the way and has had to save some of the Jimmy's a few times already.
She is big and beautiful. :-D
Mind you, you are talking about the ones that look like Jeeps :evil:

I'm so sorry, I keep meaning to say a big thank you for being such a lovely man.
It was so appreciated when you gave me a lift to town to pick up the donuts.
Sorry about leaving you in the lurch when we got back. :oops: (Was getting a bit of earache from someone, and was best to deal with it straight away before they blew their top :? ) So had to have a quick wash and take over the wagon !!

On a serious note, yes it is invite only but I am more than happy to send you contact details!
I think it would be a great vehicle to have down at Weymouth and would be great to see it parked up on the promenade I think the veterans would love it!

That would be much appreciated, that is the main reason for us wanting to go, so we can meet some American Vets and talk to them outside the Clubmobile, hopefully some of them will remember our truck. :-D It would be truly humbling :salute:

Hi Cara.
It is an exceptional show and one of the best I have been to this year - to be applauded by thousands of people is both emotional and also rather embarrassing.
The event is by invite only.....but I think it is a case of knowing the right person and supplying them with plenty tea and dougnuts :naughty: :wink:
That's exactly what I thought, hence trying to find out who goes :evil: But this is also the reason why it is only me and Ali who are trying to go, easier to get our 1 truck in than the whole convoy :-D
How did you get invited Jack? Who do I need to speak to?

What a good idea for next year as it's the 25th year. Ask rex about a space for HMVF members, they did something simular for the champ camp one year.
Maybe a spot by the miller tent and we all get to meet each other and tell the public about the website.
I believe Karoshi tried to set one up this year, but I don't think he had many takers.
We wouldn't be able to park up with you guys either as we are a living history group. :oops:
But if we weren't, we would have taken up the opportunity. :-D

There are always going to be people compaining about the Show for what ever reasons and there will always be issues because the show is so large, the larger it gets the harder to police.
Anyway, I myself had a great weekend ...... extremely exhausting...... but very enjoyable.
Can't wait till Detling now... only a few weeks to go. Woohoo!!
