Great Video Colin and i was dreading just taking the velcro off mine let alone doing the chassis.

Also cheers for the pic of my piglet. i dont get many pics of it moving

Tsk that Antar isnt loaded, its just carrying a bit of ballast to stop it bouncing........
LOL hate to think how much it would have cost in fuel if it had been at full weight to get it to malpas. £700 in fuel was the cost as is and there was still a huge grin on the drivers face when going round the areana.

just thought id post a pic of my latest toy
32 KK 57
needs some work but when dosent a landy need work ;-)

I visited Colditz a couple of years ago, it was a humbling experience to see where, how and what was achieved by the prisoners.
-
Blimey things have changed since i last went to this show about 4 years ago, will have to look at getting the time off next year.
-
Didnt get to take many pics as only had my phone camera with me and rain aint too exciting in pics lol. I agree taking down 5 9X9's, a 9X7, a 12X12 and a shelter were lots of fun when they were soaked, and a wet through piglet was a great drive home with the windows constantly steaming up lol. Shame really as the public dont seem to hang around to talk when its chucking down
but can vouch that the fireworks were good.

manage to catch up with them at a layby at Stokesay, just out of Craven Arms, Shropshire on the A49.
It turned out the layby was to be used for a horse change so managed to get the pic below with a field of poppies in the rear which seemed quite apt.
i know they were running late but the large amount of support waiting for them in Craven Arms was very good to see, so i hope they have that continue on there travels.

great pics, thanks for sharing.
the snow covered one will make a great model/diaroma

A little up date on this event and a nice surprise. Any one on the forum who was there and with the EMLRA with a Landi.? I now remember a chat with a intrested chap. Turns out it was Damian Turner from the 'Land Rover World' mag. Kindly sent me PDF file today of the event report that is in the April issue. Excelent article, two pages and plenty of pics. including one of yours truly with 54HG12 :cool2:.
Off to order my copy in the morning.
Hallo mate
is there a pic of my piglet in the report?
if so i'll have to look for a copy

Ah so your wondering about that one also Paul
Must resist, must resist, honest theres no room on the drive

Hmmm think my reply to the avaition one fits this as well.
"new balls please" said in a rather high voice this time

"New Balls Please"
"What do u mean out"

I really need to sort my pig and get it on the road again.
Anyone know any history of the making of this.
Presume it was done with MOD help as i doubt there were many pigs, vpk's in private hands.
and in places the roads have a training area quality.

i've built the saracen a few years ago and found no major problems, went together well without any big "fit" problems.
If ur used to AA kits u'll have no worries but perhaps not the best kit for a first try in this meduim but u have to start somewhere lol.
i'll try and get a pic or two up

I thought this might be another white painted armoured vehicle for xmas.
The only in service pic of my Pig is as a xmas vehicle.
still good clip tho.
-
Seems reasonable to think they are recovery eyes. Theres no access to the lifting points on the chassis rails to attach an A frame. Begs the question why tho? If it broke down a lot sort/replace it, if it did brake down how many vehicles were carrying an A frame just in case, rope round spring hanger and off you go.
Well over engineered to be used for just hanging some protection from.

Got a tentative urge to do some matching Land Rover stuff in due course yes, but need to speak politely to those nice people at LR re permissions etc etc.....grape vine tells me they can be slightly touchy otherwise.
Sort of fancy a Lightweight with the Makralon (is that spelt right?) body kit...maybe even the 1 tonner. Too many to choose from really.
Theres a 3 series LWB out now from Italeri...makes a useful base kit...& you can still get the 109 Paras LR kit occasionally too.
Later.......H
Yes but if i'm going to have a 1/24 model of my pig, then it stands to reason i need a 1/24 model of my piglet lol.
Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, right i'm off for nice cuppa of tea lol
-
I think my order will be going in when i get paid.
Any plans to release a Piglet? I'd defo buy that and lets face it a ser3 109 landy could open a wealth of possibilities.

I'm hoping to run both models at the massive IPMS gig in Telford in November

Great photos Gareth!! I see you like 1:1 scale building :wow::rotfl:
..That mock up checkpoint looks the buisness by the way, I'll hang on to these photos too, cheers!!
Glad you found the model site, keep an eye on it, I'll be showing photos of your piglet along the way and making some references too (as long as thats OK with you?)
..keep your ear to the ground in regard to photos or knowledge of that curious Jamming device
(it fits that bracket in the back of the piglet in a photo you sent me before!)
chat soon mate!
Roy :-D
no bother Roy if someone offers u a 1 to 1 scale ECM u know where to send it once u've made a scale model nudge nudge wink wink lol
as to the checkpoint i think my neighbours have got used to me, they didnt even bat an eyelid when i paint bombed, then set fire to my piglet.

Hi Roy
Just found ur post on the model site.
the first pic of a piglet u've used is a vehicle i restored for a Norhern Ireland gent
it was good having the 2 piglets for a while. even got the 2 of them along with my pig to a couple of shows.
It as a lot rougher than my piglet and as well as needing a lot of bits to be fabricated, the bulkhead needed to be changed it was fun removing the doors!
