I have come in to possesion of one of these units and need it to go to a new home.

further mounting for Other generators - DC likely
Condition: unfortunately the engine unit has been stored in wet conditions and the exhaust box which sits at the bottom of the unit and the lower frame has pretty much corroded away. - the upper engine and fuel tank is reasonably presentable.

I think I may be looking at the same engine for a friend - i also have the generator unit.
the ref number is 42QX/94 (does the 42 lead number depict it was manufactured in 1942?
serial number is: GTEI 540 c
may i ask how you know it was used on the GEE-H system?

This unit is located on the west coast of Scotland. I checked to engine yesterday and it turns nicely after god knows how many years it has been in the Diabaig Pier store.
I don't have the time to try and renovate it and the owner has no desire to hang on to it so it will be going on E-bay tomorrow.
Anyone have any thoughts on any Museums or similar that may be interested in it?
