at this moment i disassembly rusty engine and will made a list of what parts can be used again .

chaffee is in very good way.first engine is closed.
now need to rebuild the gearboxes hydramatic
for my sherman,i am looking for multibank engine parts and some parts for inside hull
but it's mostly complete

ok thanks a lot for infos,i seen pictures of brussel tank museum firefly but not sure all is original inside
i bought some book but there is only drawing not photos
i plan to start to restore my firefly so start to grind and weld correct parts inside.
at this moment when work a lot on a chaffee ,its on goos way .

i have a wc 27 ambulance,i bought it in USA last year and she is now in uk in a friend home waiting i collect it
wc 9 and wc 27 are near the same.
mine is near than complete,missing some internal parts but mostly complete.
You have all internal parts ?

hello guys
no richard it's a right thread
i make a special tool today and removed the nut,but it was very hard.
now i am removing all gears to change the bearings
gear are like new but the gearbox stayed lot of years without oil so bearing are little rusty and need to be changed.
i also dismantled 4 boggies and will finish the 2 last may be this week
they need to manufacture new parts,shaft etc..that is not a problem as we have machine tools at home
i will have new spring suspension next month.

someone have an idea of the torque,i tryed all this afternoon .impossible to move it.
i made a tool with theeth and tryed with big air tool ,it don't move,so i thank may be the thread was left but not.
next step tomorrow.

no i talking about the nut of the pinion who crank the gear of the diff.
this pinion is a gearbox gear.
it's some weeks i am looking for axle and gearbox's manual but not easy to find them.

dear guys
we started to restore an M10 some weeks ago,it's a good basis,but missing some parts
big missing part is the 3 inch tube.We have mantlet and mounting ,recoil system but no tube.so looking for one
at this moment hull is empty,we start to weld damaged steel.
all mecanic is out of the hull
we are dismantling the gearbox to change seal and bearings .It's now that things are difficult
i have big problem with the differential pinion 's nut
it's a special nut with theeth ,we tryed everything but impossible to remove it
does someone done this job ? may be someone have the special tool and we can borrow it ?
i will prepare some pictures of the restoration

i am willy,may be you don't remember me,i rescued you and teh sherman on a motorway in belgium some years ago.
i am restoring an M10,on engine normally there is dry sump and an engine oil tank in the tank body for each engine.
on the post of the man who is restoring achillies engine,we can see that sump are not the same as original and there is no oil tank in the body.There tube to fill engine oil go directly in the engine.
on your engine i seen in you tube that it appear you have same model as mark .
can you explain to me what you done on engine ,you do modification for engine lubrification ?
did you done modification on sleeve and pistons? we can i find engine parts ?
can you send me some interior's pictures of your achillies ?
we have to rebuild all floor etc....and don't have model and not lot of pictures.

white ,autocar and diamond t are 8.52x20 tires i think.They have white 160 AX engine
internationnal are 900x20 tires .They have IHC red diamond engine

be very careful with oil,it's very important
we put SAE 40 and drain oil and change it every year.
never problem with our radial engine

they are old and in a closed box.
try to find a new one.
