I've recently entered the wonderful world of soda blasting and bought a soda conversion manifold for my sand hopper. Won't affect the alloy and will get in and around rivets and seams. will also clean up the galvanised steel. Didn't know the dangers of IRR paint - glad I read this!

Who had the Tamiya R/C version in the '70's????:-)

I did. Recently gave it back to the chap I got it from 25 years ago and he's been restoring it.

Funny you should say that, I last saw the owners near Glastonbury, down Queen Camel way.

I stumbled across Dave's site about a year ago - it was good to see some of those trucks again, not many of my photos survived...

Now I've found this forum I'll try and track them down for any known details. I haven't seen the owners since the mid 90's and they'd given up hope of ever finding it by then.

Hello all from the Dorset coast.

My interest in big toys began with a Perkins powered military IIa 109 landy. It served me through 6 years of living on the road as a "new age" traveller - living with and working on vehicles such as Explorers, Matadors, K9s, RLs, a QL, Q4s, Humbers and MKs (I spent a couple of years living in the back of one of these). I have of a few photos that I will try to get scanned and posted when I get the chance.

It's good to find a group of people who like to play with big toys, er, I mean - keep our historic military vehicle heritage alive...

I'm pretty sure the photo was taken in the mid 80's. Shame it's not quite clear enough to make out the end of the reg plate.

This is my first post (on any forum, ever) so please excuse any rookie mistakes!

I knew the couple that owned this rig at the time the picture was taken. Unfortunately it was stolen from them and the police were unable to help - it was apparently never seen again.

I have of a few photos of military vehicles from my past life "on the road", I will get them scanned and posted when I get the chance (and teach myself how to do it)...
