My father was posted to 15th Recce Regiment 28 Feb 46. The regiment was dispersed 1 Apr 46. His record says 27 Apr 46 posted to Y.LIST/7(A).
He was released to Army Reserve 14 Jul 46.
Does anyone know what Y.LIST/7(A) means

There is a Churchill tank outside the D Day Museum at Southsea, Portsmouth
Thanks very much Nick

My father was a Churchill tank commander in WWII, first with 153 Rgt, then 147 and then 107. I believe he was brewed up twice and ended up with I believe a Mark VII named Bethume.
I would love to know what eventually happened to this tank any ideas, anyone?
Also, is there anywhere in SE England where I could take a look at a Churchill?

apologies for resurrecting a very old post, but this page is how I found this forum. the 3rd picture showing 8 troop also has my grandfather in it, he is pictured bottom left, Lance corporal Earnest Turner. I believe this picture was taken sometime around Christmas 1944 and my identical copy has a list of all the names on the back also, and after doing some research at the IWM found that lots more pictures of the regiment were taken at the same although none as good or clear as this.
If this post finds you I would be really interested in chatting I have loads of stuff on both the 153rd Regiment and the 147th Regiment RAC if you are

Thanks Pete, but I am practically certain he was never hospitalised. I need to find out what the 7(A) on the end stands for.
