Hello everybody
I was hoping to find out a little bit of information about my grandfather's army career as a driver (1949-1954). I have recently received his army service records, in which he served in Tripoli, Libya (1949-1951), as a Driver (Group C; Class I) and Suez Canal, Egypt (1951-1952) as a Driver/Signaller (Group B; Class II).
I was just wondering whether anybody might be able to advise on what vehicles this would have allowed him to drive. Additionally, might anybody know what his role as a driver/signaller might have entailed.
A thousand thank yous in advance.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Tom

My name is Tom, I am 26 years old and an amateur genealogist.
I am actually here with the hope of finding out a little more about my grandfather's military career as a driver during the late 1940s/early 1950s.
I look forward to interacting with the rest of you via this forum and hopefully finding out a little bit of information about my grandfather's army driving career.
Nice to meet all of you!

Hello Tony
Thanks for the reply.
He was actually in the 6th Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery, of which there is next to no information that i can find on them online...
