  1. Hey

    been a long time ...

My Humber 1ton Gs is coming along slowly ... still needs a diff cover for the front axle ..

My next question is ...has anyone got a decent photo or image of the rear tail gate...reason being the two outer panels have been plated over on mine and i tend to think they should'nt be ...

any assistance with this will be much appreciated

but we are as yet not sure of how many vehicles we can get on the site.

There will be more details to shortly.

    POSTPONED UNTIL OCTOBER

So if anyone is interested in attending please contact me thru this forum or via e-mail stevegrosvenor@talktalk.net

  6. Hi there been a while..i have now just purchased 16 bk 39 fv1601 Humber gs, Took us seven hours to get it running after being stood for TEN years... got it moving ..brakes not ceased thankfully. So now have a mighty restoration job on ready for next year. Does any body know what timber the deck boards and cab floor were made from, the cab floors ok ish but the rear deck is no longer. If any one has any info about the vehicle could you please let me know...ps the deck canvas is perfect, it was still wrapped after having a new top and side panel fitted to the original front and rear panels ...

  11. Possibly, I have some pics of civ registered Humbers that I can tie up to a military ERM. Can you not read the chassis plate, which is found by pushing your head between the front wheel arch & the wheel on the nearside?

It is appx 6" x 3" on the chassis facing you as you peer in. You will need a torch & a cloth to clean the plate it should be stamped with a 5-digit serial number top left eg 21834 & beneath the ERM eg 18 BK 34 or just 18 34. Either set of numbers will do as you can see they have a close relationship.

That is assuming you can get into the hedge:-D

HI full mil reg is 16 BK 39, didnt take any notice of the civvi plate as this was underneath it!!!!

  12. Depends on the chassis & the bodywork is very relevant with a GS. Depends if the engine can turn over. If the engine is good & can even run then the base value has to be £500 minimum. Good bodywork & tyres increase the value of course.

I am soon to be selling a Humber Malkara test truck with good engine & pretty reasonable bodywork, together with hacked around body one which was used by a garage. The engine seems ok & the cab internally complete. The two together £1,750.

Hope that is of some help.

    HI Clive

    can u trace the Reg

it's still fitted to the vehicle with the civvi plate over the top

    cheers fasttrax

  13. Hi all

The gearbox and transferbox is out ( wot a job) and on first inspection the transfer box had little or no oil in it,and wot bit it had in was swarfy, The recon box was located in the middle of a field in Cheshire, 1 of 2 still crated with all the service records, sitting along side a rather sad looking Saracen mk6 command vehicle.

    Tell you more soon

    Fasttrax

Ps where are the 2 in the picture located? and would a tranferbox out of a stolly fit?
