  1. Does anyone have any information on whether any of the Bedford RL fuel tankers illustrated in the picture survived life in civvy street?

We have a small T7 Gloster Meteor exhibit on that same site and would love to track down a tanker to complement it and the Green Goddess we already have.

  2. Yes good to hear from somebody local, I'm only in Edington/Burtle just 'over the hill' from you, also have a GMC 353 plus Jeep and Autocar 8144 under (very) heavy overhaul and a Diamond T 969. Always happy to help if I can and you are welcome to come over to look/meet up if you want. You would be surprised how many vehicles are in the area.

Isn't there a trial/quad bike course close to you somewhere near the airfield, I've always meant to bring my quad to to it but not got round to it yet.

Andy Hi, Our chunk of the airfield is next to that trialling area. If you are coming over let me know and well meet up.

Look out for the green grain bin and the Pill boxes and I should be near by, though I live a little way away in Middlezoy.

    Wow. Diamond T ! That's a shed full.

  3. Hello Julian,

Nice to hear of someone else local who's new to the Forum. I have a GMC353 and several old tractors not that far away in Huntspill, I travel through Westonzoyland every day on my way to Curry Rivel. May bump into you some time.

    All the best Edd

Edd, thanks for the note. Nice to hear from a like minded local person.

Which way do you go to Curry Rival? You may well pass my house. Let me know you are passing and call in.

  4. Hello all, I'm a farmer from in and around the levels who is lucky to farm on a large chunk of the former airfield at Westonzoyland. As a family we own the usual amount of flotsam and jetsam associated with years of farming....grey fergys and Nuffields etc. Pride of place is a 1943 Dodge WC51 bought about 14 years ago for which I have just bought a Ben Hur trailer. I've been on the edge of the military scene for a while but now need the accumulated knowledge of you all to help me take thing forward! Hope you can help.
