  1. Thanks all for your responses. My plan is to use an A frame bolted to the Jeep. It not an original Jeep one but one from a 1960's Bedford recovery truck.
  2. Really helpful, thanks Tony. Did u run a safety cable at all? Thinking about a link to the handbrake cable just in case and probably needed to be legal.
  3. Anything considered, repro or otherwise. Just want it to tow a Jeep so does not have to look WW2 authentic, just be usable. Many thanks Richard
  4. Thanks Tony, So is it just a case of taking the loom into a junction box then trial and error to determine which wires from the loom connect to which pin?
  5. Hi, anyone fitted electrics to a bedford wiring loom to enable a modern trailer socket to be fitted? Thanks Richard
  6. Need one of these, is anyone doing them please? Thanks Richard
  7. Ok, date is set...12th to 13th August at Chigborough Road Maldon Essex. Need an idea of how many are interested so I can book a space with the organisers. As a reminder, I will supply a BBQ and Beer for all attendies on the Saturday evening. Come on....lets mass a group of our beloved trucks!! Check out the show details on the EHMVA website. Thanks Richard
  8. Nice one...thanks for that. Do you know if there were any significant differences between British and American bed rolls? Cheers Richard
  9. Hi chaps, Picked this up at my local recycling yard yesterday. Looks wartime. Has a pocket each end and about 6ft in length. Fastens with webbing straps down one side. Any ideas? Cheers Richard upload images free
  10. Thanks for all the feedback guys. Yes, I did reduce the collar width to allow for the skimming but maybe not enough? How much should you allow for reduced thickness of the gasket after compression? I had aligned inlet and exhaust correctly as I also made a previous error on a jeep!! Maybe I've not been scientific enough when reducing the width of the collars? Richard
  11. Thanks. What Gasket type did you use and did you use a sealer?
  12. Afternoon all, My MW engine keeps blowing manifold gaskets in the same place. Fine when first installed the blows after a few hundred miles. I've had the manifolds skimmed so happy there ok so I'm assuming there must be an imperfection in the block itself? Obviously would love to avoid taking the engine out so is there another way? Doubling up on the manifold gasket maybe or installing the gasket with a sealer?? Any advice appreciated. Cheers Richard
  13. Ok chaps....12th -13th August at Malden Essex. Arrival on the Friday is ok. Beers and BBQ on Saturday evening for those who join me. I'm very persistent lads!! Who's up for it?
  14. Guy's I need one more 900 x 16 Trackgrip to complete a set of 4 and can offer a Cheveron pattern or Sand tyre in part exchange. Can amyone help please? Thanks Richard
  15. Yes Baz...all will be welcome of course but my main aim will be to get as many MW's there as possible. In the past this show has seen a very good turnout of British vehicles which does make a welcome change from Jeeps, Dodges and Jimmys!!
  16. Morning chaps, I'm going to try and organise a mass gathering of MW's this year at the Essex HMVA show in August (date and venue to be confirmed). Be interested at this stage to get a rough idea of numbers, so please let me know if it would be of interest to you. The show has previously be held at Damyns Hall so if you Google it you will see that it's a great show and well attended. Cheers Richard
  17. Ha ha...nice one. Looks to be a very original truck so good for reference. Where are you in the country? Are you planning to restore it? Cheers Richard
  18. Who's was the MW traveling south on the M1 Saturday on the back of a flatbed? Probably bought from Whitby?
  19. Spot on ID...thanks Maurice. Adrian, not for sale at mo. Thanks Richard
  20. Hi all, Looks like I've blown my Manifold Gasket after my trip to France. The manifolds were skimmed before I installed them so I'm surprised it's blown. Is this a common fault with the 28HP or a problem with aftermarket gaskets, or something else? Thanks Richard
  21. In Normandy and need so brakes cylinders for my Jeep. Is Normandy Jeep still near Omaha?
  22. Hi, What's the capacity of an MW cooling system in liters and is the usual a 50/50 mix? Thanks Richard
