Spotted today....

Heard a Merlin a few minutes ago and went out just in time to have my own personal display by a Spitfire right overhead . Did several turns and rolls over here and across Mersea before passing back overhead waggling the wings and heading off back over Colchester .

Just heard this morning that this was Caroline Grace doing a display over Peldon where the wake was being held for a one time Lancaster crew member . What a wonderful way to commemorate his passing .

There was another vehicle on the low loader but what caught my eye was the very nice looking Morris quad with No 5 body. It was north bound M3 just before M25 junction at around 3:30, I was southbound on the M3 so the briefest of sightings.

Not an MTB but a harbour transport boat.

Currently under restoration.

Aha, to be honest the part of the wheelhouse I saw reminded me of the design of a '70s Dinky toy (no offence intended!).

Thanks for putting me right, next time I'll have to stop and take a proper look.

Having walked past it several times, I assumed it was an MTB as well, it was only when the owner put out some information posters on the deck that I found out its true role.

As a regular visitor to Rye over the last 18 months it has been interesting to watch the restoration progress.

Tank transporter convoy on the A303 today, not unusual but did I spot them wearing civilian reg plates?

Yes all the Oshkosh HETs are owned & operated by a civilian company, I can't remember which as I didn't get their escort vehicle in any of the photos I took when they delivered the Challenger 2 to the Wiltshire Armed Forces & Veterans celebration. I did get a good photo of a copper on a push bike escorting the Oshkosh.
