That will have been Huey 509. She was being repositioned from Wesham in Lancashire down to Redhill, via Coventry Airport to refuel, for the annual inspection. They were running rather behind schedule but it was a good flight. Hopefully work will be carried out reasonably quickly so we can get her back and start to sort things out for the coming season.

Your ears did not deceive you. I was in the main arena outside as I had had a word with Phil beforehand to arrange a fly by, but as they were running late, and not having spotted the showground until after they were south of it they continued south.

Perhaps another time.

looked like an apache helicopter flying over M1 jnct 30 ,

Get them all the time here in Andover, and more so in Hurstbourne Tarrant where i work, them and Chinooks come over the hills and right above the garage at roof level, gets boring seeing them now:)

Although the Hurricane buzzing by in the morning and coming back that late afternoon made up for it:-D

We had 2 Apaches over our house on friday night about 10:45, they both came east to west then turned around, 1 then sped off, the other cicled for another 15 mins, was he lost? SPTA is only a couple of miles in a straight line from Westbury, so we regularly get Hercules, Chinooks & Merlins flying over, but rarely Apaches. On a still morning you can hear Callengers starting up, and we often hear small arms & machine gun fire.
