ArtistsRifles Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I just read a thread over the Bedford RL Yahoo group about the "Travelling Fraternity" now helping themselves to the valuable bits from old and new fire appliances. Chap who started the thread has had the brass nozzles, bell etc stolen from his Green Goddess parked in a secure car park with card entrance and no less than 14 CCTV cameras. From other peoples replies it would appear to be endmic to the point it's affecting the current fire appliances too - they are nicking the cutting and rescue gear from the appliances. It might pay to make sure the security on vehicles stored away from home is up to the mark - particularly if an old fire appliance or recovery unit?? Quote
Snapper Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I would say I am shocked, but I'd be lying to myself. What a shame. Quote
AndyFowler Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I can confirm that London Fire Brigade often have the RTA equipment stolen from appliances Neil ! Lovely world we live in ! :argh: Quote
Markheliops Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 A number of our fire stations were broken into for the cutting gear stored on appliances. They make rather good breaking-in tools. Markheliops Quote
