Jack
How important is it not, to cover the louvered side panels of a GMC with kit/equipment etc. How much does that interfer with the cooling of the engine? Jack.

Karoshi
Dont know what happened there, sorry dropped the last sentance. Bit of a rush this morning. "Engine side panels must not be removed to lower cab temp or for any other reason". They are necesssary for the efficient cooling of the engine la de da de da............ So blocking them off by covering them with kit is not advised. However we all know it happened and there are many photos to show so. There are several known pictures of jimmys with side panels missing and/or the LHS panel routinely covered by the practice of carrying the tarp on the LHS wing when open topped. Just leave room for the vents to work.
mick garner
Hi Jack, I shouldn't think it should matter that much, anyway I've seen plenty of GMC's in CMV with kit bags and things like that on the wings. If it does interfere put the kit on when you get to the show (if you're going to a show of course) and then when you leave take it off. Cheers, Mick.
