Rick W Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Followed the link on Milweb to www.staman.nl who are selling off some of the Stuarts that just arrived. They seemed to have sold very quickly, no surprises there. Anyone any idea who bought them and for how much? Has our Mr Barrell purchased one? See they have a nice Humber armoured car there as well. Adrian Barrell Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Anyone any idea who bought them and for how much? Has our Mr Barrell purchased one? quote] I'm afraid not! They are very nice and I would love one but they are way out of my price range. I aquired all of my vehicles before 1993, when they were cheap! Most of the purchases of Mike Stallwoods batch would rather remain anonymous I suspect but I would expect some to turn up at Beltring. Quote
Snapper Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I don't believe for a minute he would have brought them all that way without a good number of buyers up front. Adrian is right, they are bound to turn up. It would be nice to see one or two in a "before" state, before the serious work begins. I am just hoping we see some in British guise if appropriate rather than always American. But it would also be nice to see one in Brazilian colours, too. Whatever they hell they were! MB Quote

Agreed. It's quite a feat. He deserves a lot of credit and I think he must have earned a comfy retirement. Quote
ian2b Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I was down at RR last month and was told they fetched £60,000 each, the only thing that was done to them was to make sure the engines ran the rest is upto the new owners. Was also told Mike was thinking off keeping 2 or 3 for himself. Quote
ArtistsRifles Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 And that was the unrestored price complete with odd wild life and rust........ Quote
