Tony B Posted November 9, 2008 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Most obvious place try regimental museum. there are some records available through the National records office, though a lot of WW1 records were destroyed in the blitz. you haven't mentioned if he survived the conflict. Rick W Posted November 9, 2008 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Ive done this recently, although you can use the National Archives, their sister site Ancestry.co.uk is a lot easier to navigate and it finds the documents you need without wallowing around in the NA website. I found War Diaries for the Durham Light Infantry at Durham Records Office whilst researching my family tree. Come to think of it, they may have been exclusively Second World War records, but you might be lucky and find Great War stuff too at your local records office.
