Joris
Today 64 years ago Operation Market garden was just about to begin. All over Southern England the paratroopers and gildermen are waiting on the airfields for the takeoff. At around 10:00h (local) the pathfinders will take off and an hour later the main body will take off and head for occupied Holland to be over the drop and landing zones around 13:00h. At the Neerpelt Bridgehead all is made ready for the drive up the road to Arnhem, they expect to arrive in Arnhem in 24 to 36 hours with only minimal opposition. This of course is what the intelligence types tell them and who ever believed them? I've made these maps with the objectives and drop & landing zones.
