lightweight Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 As the title suggests, I'm trying to find somewhere that will balance split rims - between us we have a WC51 and a Jeep, both of which develop steering wobble at 40-45mph. Need somewhere in the SE Kent area. Many thanks. Quote

Marmite!! Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 We can balance split rims, bit far away from you though. So what's the difference in balancing split rims then  Quote
Rick W Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 None, as long as the balance machine has the adaptors, just the same as balancing "normal" wheels. Quote
Tony B Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Normal car tyres places take one look at the size and go white. A Dodge tyre and rim weigh about 120 Lbs weight. My local Hi Q do commercial vehicles and have always been a great help though I've found the addition of the odd packet of biccies to the bill, helps. :-D there is a place just by Sevenoaks Station do them. lightweight Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 I had been told that normal tyre places wouldn't touch the jeep wheels (because they're split rims) - perhaps I should have asked first! Quote
Tony B Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Most places are wary in case something goes wrong. Good old H&S and if don't work sue! Quote
