TooTallMike
Just found that you can get it from http://www.frost.co.uk. I've ordered some for the MUTT tank. I'll report on how it goes.
snowtracdave
Don't know if it's the same thing ( just been and looked at the can but can't read v v small print ). Used some stuff labelled Slosh Tank Sealant - mine came from Paul Beck Vintage Suplies - tried that two or three times in the past . Clean the worst of the crap out of your tank , pressure wash or steam clean , dry it , empty contents of tin in , roll tank round all ways to ensure complete coverage then drain back out and leave to dry . Seal joints etc and varnishes (for want of a better word) any loose bits that might be left and stops them floating around causing problems . Is that the stuff ? TooTallMike
Sounds like the same sort of stuff. I take it it worked ok since you used it more than once. :-) I'm going to try the trick of shaking pennies around inside to loosen the rust before I wash it out. Note to self - remember to take before & after photos! :banghead:
awg
it works brilliantly, especially for tanks that have had some water and multiple pinholes likely..it will resist ethanol unlike some other brands. I attach many nuts to a long string and agitate thouroughly. The bottom of the tank MUST be reasonably free of built-up sediment to ensure effective bonding with the metal
snowtracdave
Yeah , it worked fine . Obviously if the tank is totally rotten you're going to have troubles but the only real problem I've had was in underestimating the quantity of the stuff I needed to treat whatever tank it was I was playing with at the time .
