at 66 meters i would think the main bodys of these tanks would be ok not that much oxidization at that depth!!! as i said we need a big ship witha very big crane and some nice weather!!!!,lol

I think you are getting into the realms of science fantasy expecting a big ship, a crane and decent weather off Ireland. Great pictures, though. Salvaging rights might be an issue. Who do they belong to? The ship may well be a designated war grave anyway. I'll have to look it up on the MN memorial next time I pass by.

No it all makes sense. If it was financially viable to recover a specific number of restorable Shermans and an other kit, then all it takes is a blank cheque book and some intent. There will be a time when these archaeology wallers eschew old pots and dubloons for proper stuff like tanks. Interesting to note that Robert Ballard accidentally found the Titanic while surveying a couple of lost nuclear submarines.

well lets start the campaign!!!! think i need to break out the scuba gear and maybe go on a mixed gas diving coarse!!,i wonder where you could get the ships manifest from and see what she had on board!!???
