AndyFowler Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 A short clip showing a brand new stalwart at the Commercial Vehicle Show ! http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=69878 Quote
Paddy Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Thanks for the video. Some memorable trucks. I was laughing at the haste of the salesman to get that bird to see how comfy an Ergo cab was. Wonder what the H&S brigade would have to say about the Mini Moke today? Quote
ArtistsRifles Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 Loved the comment beside the clip "Stalwart - possibly an armoured vehicle And the WTF look on the faces of those apparently viewing it..... Still get the same looks at shows today! :-D :-D :-D Quote
ArtistsRifles Posted February 13, 2010 Author Posted February 13, 2010 (edited) Long may that continue Neil !:-D Fingers crossed :-) And everything else too :-) :-) When Stalwarts get stuck its always handy to have a Martian Wrecker on hand ! Ask MarkHeliops about the situation viz. Stalwarts, Wreckers and mud..... :-) (W&P 2007) Edited February 13, 2010 by ArtistsRifles Quote

barrynevuk Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Where abouts?! They are at Nick Meads. Tanks a Lot. Hes had them several years now, when the salvage squad done up the Stolley he tracked down the Swim gear for them, and found them at the same time. Quote
ArtistsRifles Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 Less said about the Salvage Squad program & Stollys - soonest mended!! Quote
robin craig Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 If you do a google earth satelite search on Nick's place you can see them R Quote
paulob1 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 yep a real waste, and slowly going to the knackers yard through neglect...real real shame.. Quote
Johnny Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 yep a real waste, and slowly going to the knackers yard through neglect...real real shame.. I think you'll find they're for sale, there are Stollies listed on his website. http://www.tanks-alot.co.uk/sales.htm I don't think he's a hoarder who won't let things go, just a collector/businessman with a good stock holding! I understand he has quite a bit of kit so probably can't manage to maintain/restore all of it, but they are arguably better being in storage with an enthusiast rather than a standard scrapyard where they would have probably been cut up long ago. Quote
paulob1 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 yes got to agree that. As long as Nick sells them to collectors then that will be great. I guess he is slowly getting there.....he certainly fell lucky on finding those machines...its a shame though they didn't go where they will be used. I would love to get two more and restore them...but then I would love a lot of other toys... Quote
robin craig Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 "Being kept in storage" . . . we call that TGS ie Tall Grass Storage, not good for any MV. R Quote
paulob1 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 i think since they left the army that has been their only home..one field after another...sad very sad, Nick has done some great things up at his place, hs has had a fantastic vision and carried it through, but those stollies are not doing well where they are... barrynevuk Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 He has done work on some. I think hes done up about 4 so far. This is 1 hes done over the winter Quote
