Lauren Child Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Not sure if this is me being a twit, but... I just did a search for "wc-51 canvas" and got a lot of pages which don't have "wc-51" on them. Quote
Marmite!! Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Search in this format wc51+canvas also click advanced search which gives you more options... putting the + in searches for all the words... leaving it out will search for any of the words.. Quote
AlienFTM Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Your post includes the search parameters "within quotes". However, I don't know if you actually included the quotes in your search. If not, the search engine may very well interpret "-51" (without quotes!) as "Specifically exclude any result which includes the string 51. Unless I am searching for a single word, I practically always stick a plus before every word I want to find (which is, of course, every word) and enclose words which have to be together in quotes (with a + in front of course to demand that this string be found in my results). If you are slack with your search strings, the search engine may return any page which contains any one or more of the strings you want, rather than all of them. Quote
