Tony B Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Point of intrestsir,!!!The first jet aircraft ariel recce were carried out by the Germans using the Aro 234. the pilot was Eric Sommer, flight was on the 2nd Auguist 1944. The cameras were a pair of 50cm focal length. the aircraft could reach 30,000 feet in excess of 450 mph. Drawbacks were, it had to belaunched from a cradle and land on skids, no undercart, and required 2 rocket pods to get it to take off speed. Quote
