This one of the several British WD locomotives that were left behind in Holland after the war.  First they were used by the dutch state railwyas but soon they were replaced by diesel. Lot's of them ended up working for coal mines. Our local mine had 3 of them. It was always nice to see them working. Two survived after the mine was closed in the 70s. Both are in museum railways. Here the first restored example in action the second one is waiting for a new boiler.

Nice to see.  Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0 tank locomotives.  377 built for the WD of which 27 were sold to a Dutch company, according to Wikipedia.  In production until 1964!

Not so much ended up overhere then. Here an old aerial picture of our neigbourhood. You see can a loco on the mine yard (red circle). And my father's white DAF in front of our house in the middle of the picture 😉
